Chapter 860 Are You Nuts?

"I... I know what I'm saying, Mr. Mitchell, I..."

"Shut it," Alexander cut her off. "I told you, no fantasies. There's only one girl in my heart, and that's Ava. You'll never be her."

Alexander's words were like a brick wall, no way around them. Even though Madison hadn't said much, he seemed to read her mind.

Madison's eyes went wide, her face turning ghostly pale.

Her emotions were like a storm, crashing against her already fragile heart.

His words were like daggers, stabbing her heart and making it bleed.

Madison didn't cry, didn't show any emotion. She just stared at Alexander blankly, like her soul had been sucked out.

After a while, Madison pulled herself together, shoving down the sorrow. "Mr. Mitchell, can you let me finish before you judge?"

She always called him Mr. Mitchell. She liked him, wanted to be near him, but never dared to cross the line.

Madison's tone, though calm, carried a faint hint of despair.

Alexander realized he might've been too harsh, but Madison shouldn't have said what she did. To him, it felt like she was crossing a line.

Inviting him to travel together, like they could develop feelings, made Alexander feel sick.

Alexander said coldly, "You're inviting me to Stellaria with you, what else is there to say?"

"I'm going to Stellaria with you not for me, but for you," Madison said through gritted teeth, a hint of anger in her voice. Even with her good temper, she couldn't hold back.

"For me?" Alexander sneered. "You sure about that?"

"I'm sure," Madison said painfully. "Because you're willing to die for Ava, Alexander. I know you don't really want to live."

Alexander's already grim face darkened even more, like a storm was brewing.

He clenched his fists. "Madison, I'm giving you a chance to leave. I won't get mad at you."

"I'd rather you get mad at me," Madison said excitedly. "Mr. Mitchell, what you need right now is an outlet. You can vent your feelings on me as you want. You can even hit me or scold me."

"Are you nuts?" Alexander roared. "Have some self-respect!"

He thought, 'She actually wants a guy to hit her and scold her, just to let him vent. What a nutcase.'

Even as a guy, Alexander couldn't stand hearing it.

"As long as I can help you, I don't need any self-respect!" Madison wiped the tears from her face. "Maybe in your heart, I've already become a woman without dignity, but there's no other way. That's just who I am. Mr. Mitchell, if you want to get mad at me, do it now, because what I'm going to say next might make you even angrier."

"Then don't say it," Alexander didn't want to hear more.

"No, I have to say it. If I don't, I'll just have to watch you fall."

"Fall?" Alexander roared in anger. "What gives you the right to say I'm falling?"

"Aren't you falling? You've tried to die multiple times."

Alexander suddenly laughed. "Wanting to die is falling? And what about you? Wanting a guy to get mad at you, to hit and scold you, isn't that falling?"
