Chapter 271 When You Act Like Your Sister

Alexander Mitchell's intense gaze bore into her unwaveringly, as if trying to peel away a layer to see what was underneath.

Feeling uncomfortable under his stare, Ava nonchalantly lay down on the couch, placing her phone aside.

She closed her eyes, but she could feel that burning gaze still on her.

Opening her eyes again, she found Alexander Mitchell indeed staring.

She shifted uncomfortably, turning her back to him, but it felt as though his gaze still clung to her, sending a chill down her spine.

Ava's eyes, which had been tightly shut, snapped open, and she sat up abruptly on the bed, turned her head, and glared at Alexander Mitchell.

"Why are you staring at me?"

"Why don't you continue chatting with him?" Alexander Mitchell asked coldly, his tone somewhat somber.
"Why, you want me to keep talking to him?" Ava Anderson asked.

"Whether you talk to him or not, do you have to ask me? Didn't we get divorced?"

Listening closely, there was a hint of jealousy in Alexander Mitchell's tone.

"Who asked you?" Ava Anderson pouted, "Stop keeping an eye on me. What's wrong with chatting with him?"

"It's no big deal," Alexander Mitchell responded coolly, "I didn't say anything."

Even though he didn't say anything, Ava Anderson felt a bit uncomfortable. She wasn't sure if she was overthinking it or if something was indeed off about Alexander Mitchell's gaze.

Ava Anderson realized she was too easily affected by this man. No matter what she said or didn't say, she couldn't seem to remain unaffected.

Just then, her phone screen lit up again. Ava picked up the phone and saw she had a new friend request.

"It's Victoria Bennett."

Ava immediately accepted the friend request.

Right after the acceptance, Victoria Bennett sent her a message: "I had to beg my brother for your number for so long, he wouldn't give it up, such a stingy guy, I told him you would agree, he didn't believe me, that jerk!"

Victoria Bennett sent an angry emoji.

Ava Anderson chuckled and replied, "Don't talk about your brother like that, he's just cautious."

Victoria Bennett: "I think he's just petty, he didn't want to give it to me."

Ava Anderson: "But he gave it to you now, didn't he? Calm down, I wish I had a brother, he must really adore you."

Victoria Bennett sent a giggling emoji: "Then I'll let you have William Bennett as a brother, you can call him bro from now on."

Ava Anderson sent a rolling eyes emoji, "Let's not, he's your brother, how could you just pass him to me?"

Victoria Bennett: "Sure, I'd be glad to."

Victoria Bennett: "My brother just messaged me, saying you were going to sleep. Did I disturb you?"

Ava Anderson: "No disturbance, but I am indeed about to sleep."

Victoria Bennett: "Alright then, you go to sleep, we'll chat more tomorrow, won't disturb you now."

Ava Anderson: "You should get some sleep too, staying up is bad for the skin."

Victoria Bennett: "Yeah, got it, little sis."
Ava Anderson: "A sister?"

Victoria Bennett: "Yeah, didn't you say you wanted a big brother? So here’s a big sister; I'm just a bit older than you, so I can play the part."

Ava Anderson shook her head, resignedly replying, "You really dare to claim a little sister."

Victoria Bennett: "What's there to be afraid of? Life's about being bold."

Ava Anderson: "I think you're just taking advantage of me; I haven't agreed yet."

Victoria Bennett: "So, do you agree?"

Ava Anderson: "That depends on how you perform."

Victoria replied, "Then you just wait and see me put on a good show."

Ava responded with a rose emoji.
