Chapter 892 The Pain of Three Parties
"Yo, William, I'm doing this for all three of you, man. You and Ava are hitched now, so you gotta focus on your life together. Alexander and Ava? Nah, they ain't gonna work, even if they try to patch things up. Love triangles? They just mess everyone up."
"So, you're trying to make Alexander back off from Ava to stop his pain?"
"Yeah, pretty much," Mia said. "So, whether this love triangle ends for good depends on what you do tomorrow."
Mia then laid out the plan for tomorrow and how to handle Alexander.
After hanging up, William was all kinds of confused.
He'd been doubtful, but today he actually saw Alexander, and the dude even brought a woman with him.
Luckily, he got the heads-up, so he made sure Alexander overheard some stuff, making him think the kid was his and Ava's.
Once Alexander hit rock bottom, he'd say some nasty things, making Ava lose hope. And if Ava was down in the dumps, no way she'd tell him about the kid.
With a dad like that, Ava wouldn't want the kid to know.
Everything was going too smoothly. Alexander always ended up losing to him, and it was getting boring.
But the one thing that bugged William was that Ava still had feelings for Alexander. She cried her eyes out.
If she didn't love him anymore, why all the tears?
It was love that made her so emotional. William had no clue when Ava would finally forget Alexander.
Maybe after this, she'd see things clearly.
William sighed, lay down next to Ava, and gently kissed her lips, careful not to wake her.
'Ava, I'd do anything for you, whatever it takes. Forgive me, I really love you. I'll treat you a thousand times better than Alexander ever could. Even if I have to hurt the whole world, I'd never hurt you. Forget him, please,'William thought.
William closed his eyes tight, silently begging in his heart.
The next day, Madison woke up, slowly opened her eyes, and saw Alexander leaning against the headboard beside her.
Her long lashes fluttered.
She gathered the courage to wrap her arms around Alexander's waist, holding him tight.
Alexander leaned back, his face blank, his gaze cold.
He raised his hand and gently stroked Madison's long hair. "Sorry to let you down."
Madison shook her head. "It's okay, I can wait. Whenever you're ready, I'm here."
Her shoulders and back were exposed, faint kiss marks on her fair skin.
Last night, they almost did it, clothes already off. Alexander had kissed her all over. But at the last moment, he let go.
He told her, "Madison, I'm sorry, I can't see you as her."
He tried to kiss Madison, closing his eyes and imagining she was Ava, but their scents were different.
At that moment, Madison was crushed. She bit her lip hard, holding back her tears.
Alexander was already shattered enough; she didn't want to show any strong emotions that might affect him.
So, she swallowed her hurt, carefully approached him, and cupped his face.
"It's okay. If you don't want me, can you at least hold me while we sleep?"
Alexander was silent for a moment, then agreed.
Madison slept in his arms all night.
Their bodies pressed tight together, no fabric in between.
It was the only thing he could give Madison, to thank her for being there during his darkest time.
He suddenly got Ava. Back then, Ava was in so much pain, and William was there for her.
So, Madison slept in his arms all night. They didn't actually do it, but they held each other close.
