Chapter 1019 Ask a Question
Vicky blurted out, "I didn't mean it like that, I just spoke without thinking. Why are you being so harsh?"
Did his treatment at Stellaria mess with his brain and change his personality?
Why did it feel like William's gaze had turned so gloomy? It was the complete opposite of his warm demeanor before. Was she just imagining things?
William smirked. "Vicky, stop saying things that upset me. You know I treat Sunny like my own kid. Next time, think before you speak. If someone else hears, it could be bad, especially since Alexander doesn't know about this yet."
Vicky nodded, "I get it, William. So why did Ava stay at Stellaria and let you bring Sunny back? Doesn't she care about him? Or is she coming back soon?"
William replied, "She's busy with her studies there. I wanted to take care of Sunny, and he's more attached to me, so I brought him back. She'll return once she's done with her studies."
Vicky asked, "So, you don't plan on going back to Stellaria anytime soon?"
William nodded, "Nope, I don't."
He never planned to go back. If he did, Alexander would definitely call the cops, and he'd be wanted by the Stellaria police. So, he could only stay in Berlyn now.
Luckily, he'd be safe in Berlyn.
William's gaze dropped to Sunny in his arms, a smile tugging at his lips.
Vicky stared blankly at William.
She always felt something was different about him, but she couldn't put her finger on it.
His return was too sudden, and he only brought back Sunny. With Ava still abroad, it didn't seem like it was because of company matters.
Plus, William was undergoing treatment abroad.
With him coming back now, Vicky had an uneasy feeling that something wasn't right.
Vicky asked, "William, it'll take a long time for Ava to finish her studies. And if you don't plan on going back to Stellaria anytime soon, won't Ava miss out on seeing Sunny?"
William answered, "Why wouldn't she see him? With advanced communication, we can video chat."
Vicky said, "I didn't expect Ava to agree to let you bring Sunny back."
She originally thought the three of them would return together, but it turned out to be just William and Sunny.
William said, "Vicky, Ava and I are married. This is our child. Remember, don't talk like Ava and I are just friends. I'm also Sunny's father. Isn't it the same if Sunny stays with me?"
Vicky said, "William, I'm not saying it's bad for Sunny to be with you. I just think having both parents around is best for him."
William added, "But there are special circumstances now. I need to handle company matters, and Ava needs to focus on her studies. This is the best we can do for now. Besides, Sunny is still young and doesn't understand the feeling of having both parents around."
William spoke nonchalantly, gently stroking Sunny's little face, "My precious son, isn't that right?"
William said, "Vicky, don't make a fuss next time. You'll scare the baby."
Vicky nodded, "I understand."
William had become so strange, maybe because he got married, so there were bound to be some changes.
But it seemed he really cared for Sunny, even if Sunny wasn't his biological child. Vicky didn't doubt that. She just felt something must have happened between William and Ava.
Vicky asked, "William, can I ask you a rather personal question?"
