Chapter 1017 It Was Truly Crazy
Alexander had told Ava about Madison being pregnant, but now Ava discovered Madison had a heart condition and needed a transplant. How could he make her pregnant in such a condition?
Alexander said, "We messed up and didn't use protection, so she got pregnant. Now I can't let anything happen to her."
Ava was speechless. She had no idea what to say.
She thought, 'Alexander is out of his mind, finding a woman who looks like me and also has a heart condition, just like Isabella, and then getting her pregnant. He's really something, finding a new woman who combines the traits of his past lovers. What if he dumps Madison and finds someone else? Will she have traits of all three?'
The more Ava thought about it, the crazier it seemed.
Ava saw a black car coming from a distance.
She recognized it as her ride.
She took a few steps forward, but suddenly everything went black, and she collapsed.
Alexander rushed over like a rocket and caught her, asking, "Ava, what's wrong?"
Ava felt dizzy. "I'm fine, just a bit lightheaded."
At that moment, the car stopped.
The driver got out and said, "Mrs. Bennett, I'm here to pick you up. Are you okay?"
Ava said, "I'm fine. I'm coming."
Ava tried to pull away from Alexander and head to the car. But Alexander held her back and told the driver, "She's not going back now. She needs to get checked out. You can leave."
With that, Alexander tried to take her away.
"What are you doing?" Ava struggled. "I need to go back. If anyone needs a check-up, it's you. I'm really fine."
Alexander said, "You almost fainted."
If he hadn't been there, Ava would have hit the ground.
"I really..." Ava started.
"If you say you're fine one more time, I'll carry you myself," Alexander said. "I don't care about the consequences."
Alexander remembered the past. He had tried so many times to get Ava checked out, but she always refused. Even after having a kid, she was still so stubborn.
Ava sighed and told the driver, "You can go back now."
She did need to get checked out. She had her studies and a lot to do. She couldn't afford to be sick.
Alexander and Ava headed back to the hospital.
The driver got back in the car. He didn't leave but took out his phone and made a call. When the call connected, he said, "Mr. Bennett, I just saw..."
The driver told William everything he had seen.
On the other end, William was silent for a long time. Finally, he spoke, "They seemed pretty close, didn't they?"
The driver said, "Yeah, they looked pretty close."
"I see," William replied.
With that, William hung up.
He hadn't been back in the country for long before this happened. William clenched his fists, his smile bitter.
He murmured, "Alexander, Ava, I just left, and you two couldn't wait to get together. Ava, what do I mean to you? Why are you doing this to me?"
William looked at Sunny beside him and gently stroked his little face.
