Chapter 1158 You Came Too
Ava's heart skipped a beat, and she froze, staring at him with a hint of astonishment in her eyes. "You, what did you say?"
"Ava, I..."
The doorbell suddenly rang.
Ava jerked her hand back as if she had been shocked and immediately stood up.
Bishop helplessly tugged at the corner of his mouth.
He almost said it just now, but it seemed like it wasn't the right time yet.
"I'll go see who it is." Ava went to the door and looked through the peephole to see William outside.
He frowned slightly and opened the door. "William, why are you here?"
William was carrying some fruit. "I was worried about you, so I came to check on you. Can I come in?"
Since he was already there, she couldn't just turn him away, so she said, "Sure."
William walked in with the fruit and entered the living room.
When he saw Bishop, his face immediately darkened. "What are you doing here?"
Seeing Bishop, he was on high alert.
Ava, worried they might clash, quickly said, "He brought me back, and he's staying here for the next few days."
"Why?" William demanded. "He was in Stellaria before. How did he end up in Berlyn, and why is he staying with you? What did he do to you?"
Before Bishop could speak, Ava had already started, "He didn't do anything to me, and what does it matter to you that he's in Berlyn? What does it matter to you that he's staying with me? Are you trying to interfere in my personal life?"
She was really fed up with these men interfering in her life all day long, each claiming to be doing it for her own good, but actually making her uncomfortable.
William felt stifled and wanted to say something to refute, but in the end, he swallowed his anger. "I'm sorry, I was just worried about you, so I asked a few more questions. I didn't mean any harm."
"You better not mean any harm," Ava said sternly, frowning. "You better not say anything like that again."
"I'm sorry, I won't say it again. I brought you some fruit."
William placed the fruit on the table.
"Ava, have you had dinner yet? If not, I can take you out for dinner."
"No need, I'll make some dinner at home. Thank you for your kindness, but I really want to calm down right now. You should go back."
William, seeing Bishop still there, felt a bit indignant. "Is he going back?"
Ava sighed, "William, are you saying you want to stay here too?"
"That's not what I mean. Ava, if you don't want to go out, that's fine. I'll cook. Let me stay a little longer, or I won't feel at ease. I swear I won't say anything inappropriate again."
The doorbell rang again.
Ava frowned and went to the door. Looking through the peephole, she saw Eason outside.
Why was he here too?
Ava opened the door. "Eason, why are you here?"
"Ava." Eason brought a lot of snacks. "I came to check on you. I was worried about you."
He said almost the same thing as William. "Can I come in?"
Ava nodded. "Come in."
Eason walked in and saw William and Bishop standing there, looking stunned. "Ava, why are they here too?"
"Just like you, they came to check on me."
"Really? Then I guess I'm redundant." Eason lowered his head, biting his lip, looking pitiful. "I even bought you a lot of snacks."
"Eason, thank you."
"It's nothing, Ava. Have you had dinner yet? I'm so worried you haven't eaten. It's not good to be hungry. You look like you've lost weight."
Ava scratched her forehead. "Eason, how about this, you stay for dinner too."
With Eason here, it would help lighten the mood; otherwise, it would be quite awkward.
