Chapter 698 Going Out for a While

Thinking about this, William immediately said, "It's okay if you want to see him, I'll take you there."

Ava shook her head. "No, I'll go by myself. I know you don't like him, and if you go, you'll feel uncomfortable."

"It's okay, I want to be with you. I won't feel at ease if you go alone. If you're worried that I'll interfere, don't be. No matter what you say to Alexander, I won't interfere. I just want to ensure you get there safely, and I can stand far away."

Ava sighed softly. "Is it worth it for you to do this?"

"It's worth it, as long as it's for you. Please don't make me worry, okay?"

In the end, Ava nodded. "Okay. But William, I'll tell him about my pregnancy myself. If it makes you unhappy..."

"It doesn't matter," William interrupted her. "I'll be prepared for everything. My purpose is simple, I just want to accompany you there and bring you back safely. That's enough. I won't interfere with anything else, and I'll give you complete freedom."

Since William had said this much, Ava couldn't refuse anymore.

She already felt very sorry for him.

"Ava, let me take you back to your room to rest first. It's very late now, and we can talk about everything tomorrow, okay?"

Ava agreed, and then William helped her back to her room.

Learning that Alexander wasn't dead, Ava sighed in relief. She could finally sleep peacefully, and she slept until dawn.

The next day.

Ava woke up from a nightmare again, dreaming that Alexander had died.

When she opened her eyes, her face was already streaked with tears.

"Ava, you're awake."

William had been by her bedside, keeping her company the whole time.

Ava immediately asked, "What time is it now?"

William replied, "It's 7:30 in the morning. You can sleep a bit more."

Ava immediately sat up from the bed. "I need to go find Alexander."

She lifted the blanket and tried to get out of bed.

"Hold on," William gently grabbed her arm.

"Don't stop me. It's daylight, and I need to find him. We made it very clear last night."

She was afraid that William would change his mind.

"I won't stop you," William said. "But if you're going to find him, you need to freshen up first, and the doctor will be coming for rounds soon. Wait until the doctor finishes the rounds, and then you can go. This is a hospital; you can't just leave without a word."

Ava nodded. "You're right."

Although she was eager to find Alexander, she couldn't be too hasty. She needed to handle things there first.

Not long after, the doctor came to Ava's ward for rounds.

He approached Ava's bed with her medical record in hand.

"Ms. Anderson, how are you feeling today?"

Ava replied, "I feel pretty good."

The doctor said, "You have a cervical cerclage surgery scheduled for tomorrow. If you have any questions or discomfort, feel free to let me know."

"I think I've got most of it figured out," Ava said. "Now I'm just waiting for the surgery tomorrow."

The doctor nodded. "Alright, make sure you rest well before then."

"Doctor, I need to go out for a while today. I'll be back in a few hours."

She thought it was best to inform her primary doctor about this.

She couldn't just leave without a word; she didn't want to cause trouble for others.

The doctor frowned. "You need to go out? But you're having surgery tomorrow. You need to rest well before that."
