Chapter 1060 She Was Crying
Mia said, "Mr. Smith, I'm willing to go back with you."
Brandon's gaze softened a bit. He held Mia's hand and gently kissed the back of it.
Mia followed Brandon to his home, where was a standalone house, not very big, and not as luxurious as one might imagine. Brandon lived here alone.
After bringing Mia to the room, Brandon poured two glasses of red wine and handed one to her.
Mia took the wine, sipped it, and looked around. "Is there no one else here to take care of you?"
"There are, but they come at scheduled times to clean and cook without living here. I like peace and quiet, so I mostly stay alone."
"I see." Mia smiled faintly and took another sip of wine.
The lights flickered, and they gazed at each other. Then they put down their glasses and slowly moved closer.
Brandon hugged her and lowered his head to kiss her. At that moment, Mia blocked his mouth. "Wait, I have a question for you."
Brandon let go of her.
"What question? Are you having second thoughts?"
"No, I just want to ask, are you truly interested in me?"
Brandon smiled faintly. "Do you think I'm just interested in you?"
He asked the question seriously, not just on a whim.
"Do you like me?" Mia asked.
After living half a lifetime, they had no imagination or delusion. As middle-aged people, they viewed their relationship realistically.
In high society, behind the seemingly sophisticated relationships, it was all about primal desires.
He replied, "I do like you, so I want you. I don't like seeing you unhappy."
Brandon raised his hand and gently stroked the corner of her mouth. "So, I hope you can be happy when you're with me. I can give you things that other men can't."
Mia's nose tingled. She knew with his status and at his age, Brandon couldn't be a truly pure man.
In this cutthroat and dirty world of fame and fortune, good people couldn't reach this position. How could he completely like a woman?
But Mia couldn't help but feel a bit moved. After all, for a man like Brandon to like her and treat her this way was already quite rare.
If it were someone else, they would mostly treat women as objects, use them and then discard them without a shred of respect.
Seeing a thin layer of mist in Mia's eyes, Brandon gently wiped the corner of her eye and kissed her forehead.
"What's wrong? If you're unhappy, you can tell me."
He then wrapped his arm around her waist. "I can make you happy."
He picked Mia up, placed her on the bed, and unbuttoned her shirt one by one, revealing his firm chest.
No matter how busy Brandon was, he never forgot to work out, which was why he had a great physique.
He lowered his head to kiss her, the kiss going deeper and deeper. Suddenly, Mia pushed against his shoulder.
Brandon frowned, feeling a bit displeased. If she was unwilling, why did she come back with him? But after coming back, she kept pushing him away.
He was about to say something when he saw Mia crying. Brandon suddenly panicked a bit. "What's wrong now?"
