Chapter 1228 Do You Like Me?
Mandy suddenly sighed.
"Alright, call someone to handle it."
She turned and sat down on the chair. Suddenly, she noticed something beside the corner of the table.
She bent down to pick it up and found it was a small charm, probably from Ava's bag.
Bishop drove Ava downstairs.
Ava didn't get out of the car but said to Bishop, "Bishop, you should go."
"What?" Bishop frowned.
He was about to ask Ava why, but suddenly thought of something and could guess why she said that.
"The conflict today was too dangerous. I'm worried the police will come to arrest you. You should leave for a while and lay low."
"What about you?" Bishop looked at her worriedly.
"I'll take care of myself. Don't worry about me. You should go quickly and take this car with you."
"Ava, I need to stay with you. What if something happens to you?"
"If you leave, nothing will happen to me. Please listen to me, okay? Today was dangerous. You should hide for a while. It's not too late to come back once it's safe."
Ava opened the glove compartment, took out a gun, and handed it to him. "This gun belongs to those two bodyguards. You can dispose of it or keep it for self-defense. Just make sure to protect yourself. Don't worry about me. I'll take care of myself."
Bishop knew today's incident was serious, but he still felt uneasy.
"Why don't you and Sunny come with me?"
He could take them to the ends of the earth where no one could find them, but he knew the outcome once he said it. Ava would never leave.
Ava was slightly stunned, then said, "Bishop, I know you're worried about me, but I'll be fine. I'm worried they'll target you. It would be inconvenient for you to take me and Sunny. Please go quickly and don't make me worry, okay?"
Bishop didn't want to drag her into this.
"Alright, I'll listen to you. If anything happens, contact me immediately. I'll come back right away."
He didn't want Ava to worry, so he had to agree.
"Okay, you need to protect yourself. Only come back once I'm sure it's safe."
"I won't take this car," Bishop said. "I have my car in a nearby parking lot."
With that, Bishop opened the car door and got out.
He walked to the back, opened the door, and touched Sunny in the car seat.
"Sunny, I have to go now. We'll see each other soon."
Sunny made cooing sounds and reached out his little hand.
Bishop gently held his small hand, kissed it, and closed the car door.
"Bishop," Ava got out of the passenger seat and chased after him.
Bishop turned around, "Is there anything else?"
Ava opened her bag, took out all the cash inside, and gave it to him. "Take this money. Do you have Berlyn's bank card? I can transfer some money to you. If not, I have a credit card here. You can use this."
Ava took out a card from her bag and handed it to him.
She gave it to him all at once, reluctantly.
A strong emotion suddenly surged in Bishop's heart. He held her hands and said, "I don't need money. Don't worry about me."
He kissed her hand.
Ava's eyes turned red.
"Don't cry." Bishop's fingers gently brushed her eyes.
But these words couldn't stop the tears. Once he said it, Ava couldn't help but cry.
Bishop panicked a bit and hugged her tightly.
Seeing that Ava didn't reject him, he held her even tighter.
He closed his eyes, savoring Ava's warmth. After a while, he reluctantly cupped her face, gently pressing his forehead against hers. They were very close.
Ava was a bit nervous, but her body seemed frozen, not moving at all.
"Ava," Bishop asked hoarsely, "Do you like me even a little? Not as a friend."
He spoke to her with his breath, and Ava's legs almost went weak.
"You should go. I'm afraid they'll come after you." At this moment, Bishop was still saying these things. She couldn't answer.
"Ava, can I kiss you?" Bishop was a bit out of control.
Ava's lips trembled slightly. She looked up at him, their breaths intertwining, the atmosphere intense.
Seeing that Ava didn't refuse, Bishop lowered his head to kiss her.
At this moment, an angry voice shouted, "Let go of her!"
They turned towards the voice and saw Alexander rushing towards them. Alexander pulled Ava behind him and then punched Bishop hard!
