Chapter 41 Irreparable

Alexander's brows furrowed, and his eyes flashed with anger.
Ava stood there; her gaze fixed on the diamond bracelet lying on the ground. It was as if she was staring at the shattered relationship between her and Alexander, a relationship that now seemed irreparable.
Silently, she bent down and picked up the bracelet from the ground. Without any hesitation, she tossed it into a nearby trash can and turned to leave.
A sudden surge of anger welled up in Alexander. He strode forward swiftly, his hand shooting out to grab Ava's wrist. "What are you doing?"
From Alexander's perspective, it seemed as though Ava had deliberately broken the diamond bracelet.
The force of his grip caused Ava to wince in pain. She furrowed her brows, struggling to free her hand from his grasp.
"I don't understand what you’re asking," Ava said.
She knew he was probably referring to the diamond bracelet, but why was he angry? After all, the diamond bracelet was just a gift he bought casually at Isabella's suggestion.
Alexander's face was cold. He was just about to say something, when George spoke, "Do you want to make a spectacle of yourselves? Should I get a loudspeaker and call over all the employees?"
After George spoke, Alexander noticed employees glancing their way. However, they didn't dare to linger and quickly left after a quick curious glance.
Such a scene would certainly provoke gossip.
Alexander took a deep breath, suppressing his anger, and looked at Ava, "We'll talk about this at home."
"Indeed, we should go home," George added, "Remember to come to the family house tonight for dinner with Grandma."
George's sharp gaze fell on Isabella, continuing, "Don't bring an outsider, unless you want to upset Grandma."
George emphasized the word "outsider" heavily.
Isabella's face turned extremely ugly, but she couldn't lash out and could only swallow her anger.
After George left, Ava also left without giving Alexander a glance.
Alexander stared at her thin retreating figure, feeling as if his heart had been hollowed out.
"Ah!" Isabella suddenly cried out, her body falling to the side.
Alexander quickly stepped forward to catch her.
"Alex, are you really going to your family home for dinner tonight?"
Alexander hummed in affirmation, "Yes, it's been a long time since I've had dinner with Grandma, I must go."
Isabella looked sad after hearing the word "must."
"But I have already bought the ingredients for the dish I wanted to cook for you. They can only stay fresh for one night. If you don't come to my place, I'll have to throw them away."
"You're not well and shouldn't exert yourself. Forget about cooking."
"But I want to." She grabbed his hand, "Why don't you come to my place earlier today, have dinner, and then go home? It's okay if you eat less at my place."
Once Alex was at her place, she would definitely find a way to keep him there.
Alexander pulled his hand away, "You can barely stand; how can you cook for me? Besides, I can have dinner with you anytime, but Grandma is not well, and I haven't accompanied her for a long time. You know how important this is, yet you still try to stop me?"
Isabella's face stiffened, "Alex, I'm not trying to stop you. I just love you too much. Plus, my health is not good. I don't know how long I have left, so I panicked. It's my fault. You go home. You're right, you haven't been with Grandma for a long time."
She lowered her head, tears streaming down her face.
"Alright." Alexander could understand her impulsiveness. Her health was not good, and she was often worried, "I'll take you home first."
