Chapter 1151 Defending Madison
"What are you talking about?" Madison looked startled, "You're hurting me, let go of me."
"Explain yourself clearly. What did you mean by what you just said?"
She had already felt something was off about Scarlett falling down the stairs, and now she overheard Madison and Emily talking like that.
It seemed like they were relieved that Scarlett was dead. Could it be that they were behind Scarlett's fall?
"We didn't say anything. We were just chatting. You might have misunderstood." Madison said weakly, looking pitiful, "Let go of me first, we can talk this out, okay?"
"Yeah, let's talk this out. Why are you so agitated?" Emily stepped forward and said.
"Agitated? You two were sneaky and guilty. I heard everything you said. You pushed Grandma down the stairs, didn't you?"
Everyone's eyes were on them.
Madison was shocked, "Don't accuse us. What does Grandma falling down the stairs have to do with us? Don't take out your anger on us just because you're upset."
"Yeah, how could you be like this?" Emily said angrily, "Don't throw mud at us."
"Ava." Alexander handed Sunny to George to hold for a while, then came over to Ava and pulled them apart, "What exactly happened?"
Ava pointed at Madison and Emily, "These two just said that now that Scarlett is buried, it's finally over. They said they were relieved that no one would talk about what they did."
"That's exactly what they said. Grandma's death is definitely related to them."
Scarlett's death had left Ava heartbroken, and now that she had found the culprits, she was losing control.
"You misheard!" Madison said, hiding behind Alexander, "We were just saying that Scarlett's funeral is finally over. I meant that now everyone can start to adjust their mindset instead of being stuck in grief. You might be too sad and misheard. I understand how you feel, it's okay, you need to rest, and you'll feel better after some time."
Ava laughed, "I know exactly what I heard. You two are just changing your story now. It's despicable!"
"We really didn't." Madison started crying, "Ava, you really misunderstood. How could we do such a thing? We had no motive to harm Scarlett. I understand you're sad, but you can't just make things up."
The people around were also confused about the situation.
At this moment, William stepped forward and said, "Ava wouldn't make things up. I believe her."
"I believe her too," Eason stepped forward and said, "Ava wouldn't lie."
"This has nothing to do with you," Alexander said angrily, "You two step aside, this is a Mitchell family matter."
"If this is a Mitchell family matter, then what are these two women doing here?" Ava pointed at Madison, "She's hiding behind you. Are you protecting her?"
"I'm not protecting her, Ava. Grandma was just buried today. Let's talk about this later. We will get to the bottom of it."
"This can't be resolved," Ava said, "Even if we go back, you'll just protect her. You've said many times that your Madison would never do such a thing."
