Chapter 72 Alexander's Visit
"There was a suspicious woman just now. She said she found the wrong room." Outside the room, Felix closed the door after finishing his words.
Meanwhile, Amelia stormed into Ava's ward.
"Amelia, how is he?" Ava had been waiting anxiously.
"You still care about that jerk? You have no idea how happy he is now!" Amelia was still furious.
"What do you mean?" Ava frowned, puzzled. "He got injured, right? Is it serious?"
"See for yourself." Amelia handed her the video she had taken just now.
Ava took the phone, watching the video from start to finish.
Then, she seemed to have suddenly lost all strength. The phone slipped from her hand and fell onto the bed.
She thought to herself mockingly, 'With Isabella by his side, how could he possibly be unhappy? Whenever Isabella cries, he'll soften. He's always gentle towards her.'
Ava was Alexander's wife, but his attitude towards her was inconsistent, making her unsure of his true feelings for her.
Amelia picked up her phone and said indignantly, "Stop worrying about him. He's doing fine."
"Yeah," Ava wiped away her tears and smiled faintly, "I was being foolish. He doesn't need my concern at all. I'm just making a fool of myself."
She thought Mia had really guessed it right. Alexander had spent the whole day with Isabella yesterday, probably due to some problems with Isabella's health, so Alexander didn't rest well and felt sleepy while driving last night.
Now, Ava was even more clear that Alexander was willing to do anything for Isabella.
Seeing Ava so heartbroken, Amelia also felt upset. She sat by the bedside and comforted Ava, "Stop worrying about him. He's fine now, but you are not. You need to take care of yourself as well as your baby."
"Amelia, do you think I'm stupid? I was actually worried about him. I'm so stupid," Ava cried.
"All right, stop crying." Amelia wiped her tears with a tissue. "You're stupid; you're just too kind. Remember, he's a jerk, and he's not the only jerk in this world, okay? You need to be cautious with such men in the future."
"Thank you, Amelia. Well, I think I'm a lesson for you. Don't rush into marriage in the future. Live for yourself."
"Got it. Now you need to start a new life, okay?" Amelia gently comforted her.
"Okay." Ava nodded, leaning into her embrace.
A few days later...
Ava was discharged, and Amelia was helping her pack.
After recuperation, Ava's health had improved a lot. What she needed now was to go home and rest, avoiding exertion.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door of the ward.
Ava turned around and saw William walking in with flowers.
"What brings you here?" Ava was a little surprised.
"You're being discharged today, and I came to see you," William replied.
These days, Ava had been in contact with William through text messages, not too many, just some greetings, but enough for William to know that Ava would be discharged today.
Amelia gave a meaningful look at them, teasing. "Wow, such beautiful roses! Mr. Bennett, do you know the language of roses?"
"Amelia." Ava pulled her aside. "Stop it," she whispered.
She really hoped Amelia could stop teasing them.
William awkwardly smiled, "I don't know much about flowers. They looked nice, so I bought them. Is there anything wrong?"
"No." Ava quickly took the flowers. "Very beautiful roses. I really like them, thank you. Just ignore Amelia."
"I didn't say anything." Amelia pouted. "I was just asking if he knew the language of roses. Nothing else, okay?"
Ava shook her head helplessly and didn't say anything.
Just then, Alexander walked into the room, holding a bouquet of lilies.
When Amelia saw Alexander, she leaned and whispered to Ava, "Hey! Looks like Alexander is here!"
Ava was stunned.
She thought to herself, 'Alexander? How could he be here?'
