"Ava," Alexander suddenly said, "Move in with me. I'll have someone protect you 24/7."
Ava was stunned for a moment, then shook her head immediately after coming to her senses. "No need, I can take care of myself. You don't have to worry."
"Ava," Alexander said anxiously, "You're right, so many things have happened, maybe we've been targeted for a long time. I think you need protection. Move in with me."
"Don't find excuses to make me live with you. I won't live with you. Stop saying that. I have to go. You should get a check-up."
After saying that, Ava took Sunny back from Alexander's arms.
Seeing Ava's resolute attitude, Alexander knew it was useless to say more.
"Sorry, I was being presumptuous. At least let me take you home. Please, I won't be at ease unless I take you home."
Ava nodded, "Alright."
The driver took George back to his place.
George collapsed on the couch, exhausted, having not slept all night, but he was wide awake.
After hesitating, George picked up his phone and dialed a number. Brandon's voice came from the other end, "What's up?"
"Brandon, something happened to Mia."
"What did you say?" Brandon immediately asked, "What happened to her?"
"Mia attended Alexander's wedding and got shot. She's still in the ICU, unconscious."
"What did you say?" Brandon was shocked, "Which hospital is she in?"
"You don't need to know," George said, "I called to ask if you know who might have hurt Mia."
Brandon suddenly fell silent.
Then, Brandon said, "I'm not sure about that. I'll look into it."
"You don't know anything," George said angrily, "Mia left me and chose to be with you, and you know nothing about her. What's the use of you?"
"Mia left me after divorcing you. She didn't stay with me. George, if you can't protect the woman you love, don't go around venting your ignorance. She got hurt right after being with you. You should think about whether it's your problem."
With that, Brandon hung up immediately.
George was stunned.
Did Mia break up with Brandon?
Brandon wouldn't lie to him about this. There's no need to deceive him.

The door was knocked on with a strong force.
Mandy was sitting on the balcony smoking. Hearing the harsh sound, she frowned. The servants at home wouldn't knock like that. She already guessed who it was.
"What's the matter? You're about to break the door."
Mandy put out the cigarette and went to open the door.
Outside, Brandon stood there angrily, glaring at her as if he wanted to eat her alive.
Mandy said, "What are you doing?"
"Did you order someone to shoot Mia?"
Mandy was first stunned, then frowned, "You think I ordered someone to shoot her? Are you out of your mind?"
"Wasn't it you?" Brandon clearly didn't believe her.
He rushed in, slammed the door shut, and locked it.
"Mom, tell me the truth. Did you do this?"
Mandy sneered, "Look at you. It's like you hope I did it so you can find the culprit and arrest me?"
