Chapter 1034 I Want the Truth
Ava's voice already carried a trace of sadness. She really didn't have the energy to scold him or get angry; every word she spoke was filled with a sense of helplessness.
Alexander said, "I have something to ask you, and I hope you'll answer me honestly."
"What is it?" Ava said, "Let go of me first, then we'll talk."
It was inappropriate for them to be holding onto each other like this.
Alexander released her arm.
Alexander asked, "Ava, tell me the truth. Did you ask William to return to the country?"
There was no accusation or anger in his words; he simply wanted to know the answer.
Ava heard his words and a trace of confusion flashed in her eyes.
Was he questioning her?
Ava asked, "What do you mean I asked him to return to the country?"
Alexander replied, "Did you already know what William did and thought I would cause him trouble, so you asked him to return early?"
Ava suddenly laughed, "Do you know what you're saying? I only found out what he did when you showed me that video evidence. The way you're acting now, it's like you think I conspired with him to help him escape back to the country."
She couldn't understand how he could come up with such an idea.
Alexander clenched his fists and looked at her silently.
For a moment, Ava found it particularly ridiculous.
"Why would you think that? Is it because you couldn't figure out who leaked the information, so you thought of me, thinking I knew in advance?" Ava's voice was somewhat sarcastic.
Alexander said, "Ava, I just want you to tell me the truth."
Ava had nothing more to say.
"Alexander, you're really ridiculous. I don't want to say anything to you."
If he thought that way, then there was nothing left to explain. He could think whatever he wanted.
Ava turned to leave.
Alexander grabbed her wrist, "Wait a minute."
He blocked her way, "Tell me the truth, please?"
"Let go of me." Ava struggled hard, but Alexander refused.
Ava slapped him hard.
Not far away, Madison was hiding in a corner, watching the scene unfold.
She initially wanted to rush forward to defend Alexander, but the next second she realized she couldn't.
So she could only hide in place, watching Alexander with a heart full of pain and anger.
"Ava, I just want to hear the truth from you." Alexander's face was particularly pained. "Even if you tell me you asked William to return, it doesn't matter, because if you did it, I would forgive you."
Ava's heart, which had finally calmed down, was once again thrown into turmoil by Alexander. She almost laughed out loud, "Alexander, you're ridiculous.Who told you that I asked William to return? Did you come up with that yourself?"
Ava was incredulous, "If you came up with that yourself, then you're really stupid. If someone else told you, then that person must have ulterior motives. Why don't you think that maybe the informant is that person?"
Alexander's brow furrowed, "Impossible, Madison wouldn't do something like that."
Hearing "Madison," Ava understood, "I get it. Did Madison tell you that maybe I asked William to return because William and I are married, so I'm highly suspicious and know everything William does?"
