Chapter 881 Hopes Shattered
"I love him so much, he's my whole world. I'd do anything for him even if it means getting on my knees and begging you!"
She had a ton of stuff bottled up inside, but right now, anything she said would just sound weak and lame.
What else was there to say?
Things between her and Alexander had hit rock bottom. If Madison could actually make Alexander happy, then fine, whatever.
Even if it tore her apart and Madison was a total jerk to her.
As long as Alexander was happy, that was all that mattered.
After all, Alexander was Sunny's dad, even if he didn't want the kid.
"Ms. Allen, if that's the case, just live your life with him. No need to say this stuff to me anymore."
"So, you're letting Alexander go?" Madison shot back.
Ava felt a headache coming on. "You're making it seem like I've been harassing him and trying to kill him. Do you even know what went down between us? We..."
Before Ava could finish, there was a sudden commotion, "Oops, there's a fight in the restroom. Can someone come and deal with it?"
Sounded like a restaurant guest.
Hearing the word "fight," Ava's brows furrowed, a bad feeling creeping in.
Madison's face got serious too, and they both jumped up and headed to the restroom.
The staff was already there, trying to pull Alexander and William apart. They were going at it hard, faces bruised and suits ripped.
The restroom door was practically hanging off its hinges.
Even as they were being pulled apart, Alexander and William were still struggling, trying to get at each other, like they wouldn't stop until one of them was down for good.
It took several strong guys to hold them back.
The staff immediately called the cops.
"Alexander!" Two female voices yelled from outside the restroom, one from Ava and the other from Madison.
Both of them had called out "Alexander" at the same time.
The fierce Alexander and William turned their heads when they heard the voices, their eyes locking on Ava.
When Alexander heard Ava call his name, a flicker of hope and disbelief flashed in his eyes.
But William's face was a mess of shock, confusion, and even a bit of anger.
Why did Ava call Alexander's name?
He was her husband. She should've called his name, but why call Alexander?
Seeing Ava looking at Alexander with such concern, William's heart shattered into pieces.
Why hurt him like this right now?
The atmosphere suddenly went dead silent. Ava held Sunny tightly in her arms, her eyes full of helplessness and sadness, tears brimming.
She had called Alexander's name out of instinct, out of concern for him.
But seeing the hurt in William's eyes, Ava panicked, feeling like she had messed up big time. She bit her lip and hoarsely said, "Why did you hit William?"
Each word felt like a knife cutting through her throat.
Hearing Ava's latter words, Alexander was stunned.
So, Ava had called his name not out of concern, but to ask why he had hit William?
The most painful thing in this world was probably the despair that followed hope, without even a moment to savor it before it shattered.
