Chapter 1205 Caring About Him
Alexander turned his head, "Anything else?"
Bishop came over holding Sunny, "Do you want to hold him? He seems to want you to."
Alexander was taken aback, then a helpless smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.
"Better not, you take him upstairs."
The more he held him, the harder it was to let go.
He didn't know why he had such strong feelings for Sunny, maybe because he was Ava's child, so he loved him by extension.
Seeing this, Bishop didn't insist. Just as he was about to leave with Sunny, suddenly Sunny started crying in his arms.
He desperately reached out his little hands towards Alexander, trying to grab him.
Hearing Sunny's cries, Alexander's heart tightened. He turned around to see Bishop holding Sunny, trying to soothe him.
"Bishop, what's wrong? Is he hungry? I'll take you back right away."
Sunny kept crying, louder and louder. Alexander's heart felt like it was being squeezed into a ball, and his feet seemed nailed to the ground, unable to move.
Bishop took a few steps and turned to see Alexander still standing there. After a moment of thought, he asked, "Why don't you try to soothe him?"
Actually, Alexander was quite pitiful. Everyone knew Sunny was his child, except Alexander.
Although Alexander had been a jerk before, he wasn't a terrible person. As a man, Bishop understood men. Compared to William, Alexander had a much better character.
Women understand women, they can see through who is hypocritical at a glance, but men can't.
Similarly, men understand men; they can see through a man's intentions at a glance, but sometimes, men can deceive women.
Alexander's fingertips trembled slightly. Then, he carefully wiped his palms on his clothes and immediately reached out to hold Sunny in his arms, gently soothing him. "Sunny, what's wrong?"
Sunny cried in Alexander's arms for a while, burying his little face in Alexander's chest. Under Alexander's gentle soothing, he finally stopped crying.
Alexander breathed a sigh of relief. He took out a handkerchief from his suit pocket and carefully wiped Sunny's delicate face, drying his tears.
Sunny looked so pitiful, his eyes red, his little mouth trembling, long eyelashes fluttering lightly, staring at Alexander with big eyes, calling out for mommy and daddy.
"Sunny, your mommy is upstairs. And I'm not your daddy."
Although Alexander often thought how great it would be if Sunny were his child.
Every time Sunny called him daddy, he had an illusion, even a desire to take Sunny away, regardless of everything, even if he was William's child, he was willing to treat Sunny as his own. Maybe if he kept Sunny, Ava would come back to him.
But he tried his best to stop his crazy thoughts, he couldn't do that.
"Sunny, call me Alexander, you can call me Uncle Alexander."
Although the word "daddy" made Alexander feel like a father for a moment, he had to face reality.
"Uncle Alexander." Sunny mimicked Alexander, saying the title.
Such a young child could already speak, though it was hard to say a complete sentence, he could mimic adults saying some words.
Hearing this title, Alexander felt both lost and touched, "So smart, that's right, I'm Alexander."
"Uncle Alexander." Sunny called him again.
Alexander's heart ached terribly, he wasn't sure if he could hold on.
"Take Sunny upstairs." He reluctantly handed the child to Bishop.
Bishop took Sunny.
"Thank you."
Alexander said this for no apparent reason, even he didn't realize why.
Bishop could sense the reason for this "thank you."
"Then I'll go up first, drive carefully on your way." He saw that Alexander wasn't in a good state.
Alexander responded softly, turned and left with a helpless smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.
Unexpectedly, the one who cared for him in the end was Bishop.
