Chapter 1028 A New Heart
But now that she thought about it, if she had really done that back then, Alexander would have definitely found out.
"Let's head back to the ward first, and I'll tell you what to do," Eason said, extending his hand.
Madison took his hand, and after following Eason back to the ward in a daze, she sat on the bed and started crying.
"Why did Alexander lie to me? How could he do this?" Madison sobbed.
She clutched her chest, struggling to breathe.
Eason's lips curled into a sinister smile, but then he spoke seriously, "With your frail body, how can you compete with Ava?"
"So what should I do?" Madison asked, "I can't help my condition. It wasn't a choice I had."
Eason raised an eyebrow, "What if I told you that you do have a choice?"
Madison was startled, "What do you mean? Can you help me?"
She grabbed his arm excitedly, "You can help me, right? Please think of a way. I can't lose Alexander. I'm deeply in love with him. If I have to leave him now, I'll go crazy. I'd rather die."
The more Madison thought about it, the more agitated she became. She clutched her chest, almost unable to breathe.
Eason pointed to her heart, "This is your best bargaining chip."
Madison looked at him in confusion, "Bargaining chip? Are you talking about my heart condition? You're suggesting I use my heart condition to keep him around?"
Madison shook her head, "That won't work. My health is poor. What if I die? That would just benefit Ava. I really want to get better. If I could get better, that would be great."
"What if you could get better?" Eason pinched her chin, "What if I could find you a suitable heart, and you could have a transplant at Stellaria? How about that?"
"Is that really possible?" Madison was shocked, "Can you really do that?"
Eason laughed, "Don't you believe me?"
Seeing the confidence in Eason's eyes, Madison felt a strong sense of assurance. She had a strong feeling that he could do it.
Eason handed her a pill, "Break this open. Inside, there's a drop of liquid. Just one drop. Drink it, and I guarantee your dream will come true."
Madison looked at the pill in her hand, puzzled, "What is this?"
It looked a bit like a capsule, with an outer layer and a drop of liquid inside.
"This is something good. It will make Alexander stay by your side, personally taking care of you, and not going anywhere. It will also make Ava see how much Alexander cares about you."
"Will this pill harm me?" Madison felt that this wasn't something good.
Eason replied, "Of course it will."
Eason lifted his head and gently stroked her face, "Once you take it, your heart will immediately start to fail. You'll need a heart transplant within two days, or you'll die."
Madison gasped and quickly pushed his hand away, "No, I can't take this pill."
Eason grabbed her hand, forced the pill into her palm, and then made her clench her fist around it, "As long as you don't want to take it, I won't force you."
Eason said, "All I can offer is this: swallow the pill, and I'll make sure you get a healthy heart. No more heart attacks, no more living in dread of dying suddenly."
