Chapter 850 Her Bottom Line

"I'm totally telling Mandy about this. She'll put Dalton in his place, just watch. I'm not letting this slide."

Vicky's clenched teeth sent a shiver down Hailey's spine. She was scared that if Vicky stayed this mad, she'd end up just like Dalton. After all, Vicky was his daughter.

Hailey had spent years trying to be there for Vicky and teach her right, hoping she wouldn't turn out like her dad.

She wouldn't allow this to happen, even if they were divorced.

Brandon grabbed Vicky's hand and said, "Vicky, listen to me, don't tell Mandy about this."

"Why?" Vicky snapped. "Mom, are you trying to protect them? Why are you protecting them? Why?"

"Vicky, chill out." Hailey gripped her shoulders tight. "I'm not protecting them; I'm protecting you."

"Mom, why do you think you're protecting me?"

Hailey explained, "Vicky, I just don't want your heart to be filled with hate. You know Mandy's temper. If you tell her, she'll definitely do something, and then your dad will know it was you. I just don't want you and Dalton to become enemies."

"So what if Dad and I become enemies? Mom, I know you're just doing this for Dalton. You don't want me to be mad at Dad. You've always tried to protect him, but I feel sorry for you."

"You're a great daughter," Hailey said softly. "I'm so happy to have a daughter who looks out for me. Please listen to me. If things get out of hand, I'll be even more heartbroken. Let's just leave it at that. Don't tell Mandy, I'm begging you."

Seeing Hailey's sincere expression, Vicky finally sighed. "Mom, since you don't want me to say anything, I won't."

"Good. Don't worry. I've got your back. I'll talk to Dalton. If he makes things difficult for you again, I won't let it go."

Vicky was her bottom line. This was her precious daughter, and no one could hurt her, not even Dalton.

Hailey suddenly heard the sound of a car outside and realized that Mandy might be back.

She quickly grabbed Vicky's hand and said, "Vicky, come back to the room with me."

After bringing Vicky back to the room, Hailey immediately used makeup to cover the red marks on her neck.

Fortunately, the red marks on Vicky's neck were not that obvious anymore. With the makeup, they were barely noticeable.

"Vicky, you absolutely cannot tell Mandy about this, okay? Just do it for me, alright?"

Hailey knew Mandy well. When Mandy got ruthless, she could be very cruel and would do anything. Things would definitely get worse then.

There was a knock on the door.

"Hailey, I heard Vicky was coming. Is that true?"

Hailey held Vicky's shoulders. "Do you remember?"

Although Vicky felt a bit defiant, Hailey was her mother. She had pleaded like this, and if she refused, Hailey would be very sad.

So, Vicky nodded. "I see."

After wiping away her tears and adjusting her emotions, they walked out of the room.
