"It has nothing to do with me. I was also ruined by Dalton. Why are you making things difficult for me?"

Mia didn't understand why a woman always made things difficult for other women. When men did something wrong, they didn't go after the men but instead targeted the women.

"Why didn't you resist when he forced you? Who could force you if you refused? What could Dalton do to you, Ms. Thompson?"

"I did resist and I didn't want him to touch me. You're right; I am Ms. Thompson. But if the Mitchell family knew about this, they would fight Dalton to the death. I don't want to see that happen, so..."

"So what?" Mandy pressed.

"So I kept this secret from them. I'm also trying to get rid of Dalton."

She thought she had succeeded because Brandon told her he had made things clear to Dalton. He also promised he would continue to follow up and wouldn't let Dalton harm her again.

After Hailey's divorce, she was depressed. She had sacrificed a lot of for Dalton, only to be treated this way.

"If it weren't for the Smith family, Dalton wouldn't be where he is today."

Mia said, "Yes. You supported Dalton, so you must know he is the one who will stop at nothing for profit. He unilaterally abandoned Hailey."

"Shut up!" Mandy interrupted her. "Mia, I won't let either of you off. You're just the beginning. I'll deal with Dalton slowly. After all, if I kill him right away, Hailey would be heartbroken."

Mia thought Mandy was crazy.

Mia looked at the whip in her hand and was scared out of her wits.

"Now you're scared? Why weren't you scared when you were involved with Dalton?"

"How many times do I have to say it? I was forced. Dalton and Hailey's divorce has nothing to do with me. It was Dalton who was fickle. He married Hailey for profit, and turned his back on her after getting everything."

"Of course, I know," Mandy said. "But you play an important role in this matter."
