Chapter 966 She Had Enough
Ava's words hinted that both of them were to blame because she didn't really know what went down. She was stuck with their one-sided stories and couldn't figure out who was right or wrong.
She hoped it was just a big misunderstanding between them.
William got the wrong idea about Alexander, and Alexander, seeing William's bodyguards with weapons, also got the wrong idea about William.
Their relationship was already rocky, and they both had beef with each other, so jumping to conclusions was kinda expected.
"He really did it. Madison was also taken by him and almost got killed," Alexander said, all worked up.
The danger he went through seemed like a misunderstanding to Ava. He got it; she wasn't there and didn't know the full story. Both he and William had their own versions.
But thinking about what he went through, he still felt it was super unfair.
The only thing that bugged Alexander was that Ava didn't believe him. Back in the day, she would've totally believed him, but now things were different.
After the divorce, she just didn't trust him anymore.
"You're lying!" William snapped. "Ava, don't listen to him. He's making stuff up. If I really wanted to kill him, would Alexander still be standing here? He didn't have any bodyguards at the villa. If I wanted him dead, it would've been a piece of cake, but I didn't."
"You didn't because I grabbed the gun when you weren't looking and turned the tables. Otherwise, Madison and I would be dead. Then you could get rid of our bodies, and no one would know. Everyone would be clueless."
"Alexander, you're shameless to accuse me like this." William, all anxious, told Ava, "Ava, don't believe him. You know what kind of person I am. It was Alexander who wanted me dead. Remember when I was in trouble, and everyone, including Alexander, pressured you to donate my organs? He never wanted me to live."
William knew how to argue.
He was quick on his feet and knew how to hit where it hurt.
Hearing this, Ava couldn't help but think back to that time in the hospital.
Everyone was pushing her to give up on William and donate his organs to save others, including Alexander.
Because William's heart was a match for Isabella, Alexander wanted to use William's heart to save her.
Back then, Ava was the one who had to make the call as William's legal wife.
Ava remembered how Alexander looked then. He was so worried about Isabella. He completely wanted William to die quickly.
During that time, she was overwhelmed. Everyone was pressuring her, even Alexander, the man she loved, was pushing her like that.
Ava couldn't forget Alexander's good side, but she also couldn't forget his faults. His good and bad were all mixed up, almost breaking her down, leaving her unsure of what to do.
It was like a string pulling at her heart, sometimes loosening, sometimes tightening. When it loosened, everything was fine, but when it tightened, it was heartbreaking.
Alexander was her poison, slowly eating away at her heart. Every time she wanted to quit him, he'd show up in her life out of nowhere.
She'd had enough. She really had enough.
Alexander's face looked bad, and there was a sense of dread in his eyes. "Ava, you don't believe him, do you?"
