Chapter 818 Igniting Hope

Seeing Madison stay quiet, Eason straightened up and adjusted his coat.

He was calm, patient, and showed no signs of anger. Instead, he smiled and said, "Alright, I won't push you. Don't worry, I won't bother you again."

"Take care, Ms. Allen." Eason turned to leave.

Just as he reached the door, Madison called out, "Wait a minute."

Eason stopped.

"What's your name?" Madison asked.

Eason's eyebrows twitched. He turned around and said, "You can call me Sam."

"Sam?" Madison repeated, finding the name a bit odd. "Is that your real name?"

"Ms. Allen, do you have any other questions?" Eason deflected.

Madison, a bit nervous and sweaty-palmed, asked, "Is there any way I can help Mr. Mitchell?"

"Are you saying you've accepted my proposal?" Eason asked.

Madison lowered her head. "I don't know. I just don't want anything bad to happen to him. If I can help, I will, but it seems he doesn't want to see me anymore."

Despite Alexander's hurtful words, she still wanted to see him. She couldn't control her feelings, even though it was painful. She was really worried about Alexander. When she visited him in the hospital, she sensed he didn't want to live anymore. If not for her visitor, he might have jumped off the building.

Eason came closer and asked, "Have you really made up your mind?"

"If I say yes, do you really have a way to help him?" Madison asked, pinning her hopes on him.

"Don't worry. As long as you cooperate with me, we can definitely help him," Eason assured.

"So what should I do now? I'm afraid to contact him; I'm scared he'll be annoyed with me," Madison said.

"You don't need to contact him. Just focus on recovering. You had a heart attack, so get well first," Eason said, tucking her in.

Hearing Eason's gentle voice, Madison felt he probably wasn't a bad person.

"By the way, Sam, about Isabella and Alexander..." Madison started.

"They almost got married before. But Alexander made it clear to her. Isabella just can't let go," Eason explained.

"No wonder," Madison said. "When she saw me, her eyes were full of hostility. She really loves Mr. Mitchell."

"So you have to work hard," Eason said, gently lifting her chin. "With your looks, you have a good chance. Isabella won't be a match for you."

Madison felt uneasy. "I never thought about competing with her. I'm just worried about Mr. Mitchell. I'm afraid he might do something foolish."

"That's the right way to think. Don't compete. Just do your best for the person you care about. Ms. Allen, it's because you're this kind of person that I found you. I believe you're a good woman, and one day Alexander will see your worth," Eason said.

Madison's broken heart felt a glimmer of hope. "Do you really think so?"

Eason nodded. "I do."

He glanced at his watch. "I have some matters to deal with. Rest up, and we'll talk again when you're out of the hospital. I have your number."

"Okay, go ahead," Madison said.

Just as Eason was about to leave, he turned back and said, "By the way, Ms. Allen, don't tell anyone about our meeting, especially Alexander. I don't mind if he would find out, but he might dislike you. He's quite stubborn."

"I understand. I won't tell him," Madison replied.

Eason smiled slightly. "Good, then I'll leave now."
