Chapter 1098 A Familiar Feeling
George looked at Eason in front of him and wondered if this was his son.
Was this what Cheryl wanted to tell him back then?
Seeing George's complex expression, Eason frowned slightly. "Uncle George, what's wrong?"
George snapped back to reality, "Nothing, it must have been tough for you. After your mother passed away and your father wasn't around, how did you grow up? Did any relatives take care of you?"
"I was later sent to an orphanage and grew up there."
"Orphanage?" George felt a pang in his heart, "Didn't you have any other relatives?"
Eason gave a bitter smile, "What other relatives? Even if there were, who would want to take in a burden?"
George wanted to say something more, but Eason smiled lightly and said, "Uncle George, why are we chatting here? The traffic police will be here soon."
"You're right." George smiled awkwardly, "How about this, get in the car. It's noon now, let's have lunch together, my treat."
"Uncle George, we just met and you're already treating me to lunch?"
"So what?" George said with a smile, "I feel a connection with you, and you tried to stop me from jumping, which shows you're a kind kid. I'm in a bad mood today and need some company. If you're willing, can you keep me company? I can pay you."
He was afraid Eason would refuse.
Eason thought for a moment and said, "Alright then. But I don't want your money, I'm willing to keep you company. For some reason, I feel a sudden sense of closeness with you, Uncle George. Do you have children?"
George felt a pang in his heart and nodded, "Yes, I have a son."
"No wonder you have such a fatherly vibe."
The word "father" made George feel very sad. After adjusting his emotions, he said, "Eason, let's get in the car."
The two got into the car.
George took Eason to a restaurant.
He let Eason order whatever he liked.
George was very enthusiastic towards Eason, which made Eason feel a bit overwhelmed, "Uncle George, you're being too kind to me. I did comfort you a bit, but you don't have to go to such lengths."
"It's not a big deal. The more you order, the happier I am."
If this really was his son, then they were father and son, and he had his blood running through his veins.
He didn't know what kind of coincidence had brought them together.
He had to think of a way to do a paternity test.
"Alright then, Uncle George, I won't hold back."
Eason ordered a lot of delicious food.
In front of George, he was like a child, very happy, as if he had no worries.
They talked a lot, and George asked him many questions, especially about his time in the orphanage.
"Eason, how was your time in the orphanage?"
At the mention of this, a trace of sadness flashed in Eason's eyes, "The orphanage gave me a place to stay and food to eat, but I had no parents and was weaker than other kids my age. They always bullied me."
"Did you tell the director or the staff at the orphanage?" George asked quickly.
Eason gave a bitter smile, "What good would that do? It's an orphanage, everyone has no parents, and no one would stand up for me. The staff looked the other way as long as nothing major happened. This world is very cruel and realistic, especially for the weak."
