Chapter 533 Morning Sickness

"He hasn't mistreated. It's just..." Ava paused, feeling at a loss for words.

"Just what?" Brandon inquired further, "If he treated you well, why did you end up divorcing? Rumor has it that his mistress and William are both at the same hospital."

Ava placed her hands on her knees, feeling uneasy, and clenched them into a fist.

"I can get rid of her," Brandon volunteered to do something for her.

Ava didn't expect Brandon to do this for her.

He really cared for William and, thus, also cared for her, William's wife.

She forced a smile, "Thank you, but there's no need. I don't care about these things."

"Really? Alexander betrayed you for another woman and divorced you. Now his mistress and William are in the same hospital, and you're not upset at all? You now have the Bennett family as your backing, and I can help you. You don't need to swallow your pride; you can repay those who bullied you tenfold."

Brandon was visibly upset.

Ava shook her head. "No, I'm not upset, not because I'm swallowing my pride, but because I really don't care. Maybe before the divorce, I would have been angry and felt wronged. But now, these things don't affect me much. After all, my new life has begun, and I don't want to waste time and emotions on those past people or events. Besides, I think someone like Isabella isn't worth your effort to deal with."

Every word she said was sincere.

Brandon nodded. "Since you have made up your mind, I won't force you. If you need any help, you can tell me directly."

Ava nodded. "Uncle, thank you for your concern. If I need help, I'll let you know. You've already helped me a lot."

Previously, at the hospital, when she was surrounded by the families of those patients, Brandon arrived in time to help her out.

"We are family now. If you encounter any problems in the future, don't hesitate to come to me. I know Dalton is difficult to deal with. You can come to me, even if he gives you a hard time."

"Okay, Uncle, I understand." Ava was polite but still maintained a certain distance from strangers.

Brandon understood that although Ava said she knew if she really encountered any difficulties, she probably wouldn't come to him first. He was indeed a bit anxious. His sudden warmth towards her was bound to raise her suspicions.

Worried that Ava might feel uncomfortable, he changed the topic. "Ava, this soup is very good and nutritious. Would you like to have some? I know you've had dinner, but a little soup won't hurt. You don't look well, and you need to replenish yourself. You must be exhausted from taking care of William recently."

Ava raised her hand and touched her face.

Alexander also said she didn't look well. Was it that obvious?

It might be because of the pregnancy.

She needed more nutrition for the baby. If she didn't get enough nutrients, her baby would also suffer. Even if she didn't want to eat, she had to.

Alright, then. For the sake of the baby, she had to drink it even if she didn't want to.

Brandon immediately asked the waiter to bring Ava a bowl of soup. The soup was very delicious, and Ava finished the whole bowl.

"Do you want another bowl?" Brandon asked.

Ava shook her head. "No, I'm full. Maybe next time."

He didn't force her.

After dinner, they left the private room.

"Uncle, I'll head back to the hospital now."

"I'll take you there."

"Don't bother. It's just a few minutes' walk. I can go by myself."

Seeing Ava insist, Brandon nodded. "Alright, be careful on the way."

Ava acknowledged and was about to leave when she suddenly felt a wave of nausea. She quickly asked a passing waiter, "Where's the restroom?"

The waiter pointed in a direction. "Over there."

Ava hurried to the restroom.

She threw up for a while in the restroom, almost vomiting all the soup she had drunk.

Her morning sickness wasn't severe, but sometimes she would suddenly feel like vomiting. Fortunately, she didn't have morning sickness when she was with Scarlett today.

After rinsing her mouth, Ava walked out and saw Brandon waiting for her at the door.
