Chapter 18: Meeting Again

The crowd below started whispering, clueless about what just happened. Not far away, a pair of sharp eyes locked onto the stage, filled with gloom.

After a few seconds, Ava quickly pulled away from William's embrace. "Sorry, I skipped breakfast. Feeling a bit lightheaded."

The principal said, "If you're not feeling well, take a break."

Ava nodded, stood up straight, bowed to the crowd, and walked off the stage with her diploma.

The dizziness hit her again. She felt unsteady, trying hard to walk down the steps, but her vision blurred. She couldn't see the steps clearly but couldn't just stand there, so she took a step down.

The principal continued, "Next, let's welcome Mr. Bennett to give a speech..."

Before he could finish, he saw William darting towards him like an arrow.

Screams and gasps erupted from the audience! Ava missed a step and fell off the stage! Instinctively, she protected her stomach!

But instead of hitting the ground, she landed in a warm embrace, feeling no pain, just hearing William's muffled groan of pain.

Ava came to her senses and found herself lying on top of William. She tried to get up, but her legs were too weak.

"Are you okay?" Despite his pain, William still showed concern for her.

The scene was chaotic. Everyone stood up and gathered around.

Ava gritted her teeth, just about to get up from him, when suddenly, a tall figure broke through the crowd, walked over, and pulled her up into his arms. Ava gasped, crashing into Alexander's solid chest.

She looked up, utterly shocked. "Why is it you?"

She thought Alexander had left. Why was he back?

Alexander's face was grim, his sharp gaze fixed on William. Others had already helped William up.

The scene was chaotic. Everyone whispered, curious about Ava's relationship with this handsome man and seeing how close they were.

Someone recognized him as Alexander, the president of SK Group! Could Ava be his lover? Otherwise, why would they be so intimate?

William seemed to guess their relationship from the scene but said nothing.

Ava forcefully broke free from Alexander's embrace, feeling anxious under so many eyes.

"Sorry, Mr. Bennett. Do you need to go to the hospital?" She ignored Alexander's gloomy face, her worried gaze falling on William.

"I'm fine." William clutched his chest, his brows furrowed, clearly in pain.

Ava was about to step forward to check on him when Alexander grabbed her wrist and pulled her back, his face terrifyingly cold.

"Let go of me!" Ava tried to break free from his grip, but Alexander held on tightly.

Alexander wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her into his embrace. His hostile gaze was fixed on William.

Holding Ava in front of William, he pulled out a check from his pocket and stuffed it into William's suit pocket, raising his voice with a hint of provocation. "Thanks for saving my wife. This is for your medical expenses."

With that, he left with Ava in his arms.

The crowd was in an uproar!
