Chapter 765 He Is Very Safe

Mia walked directly to Ava's hospital room.

In the hallway, her phone rang.

She took out her phone and glanced at the caller ID.

Immediately, her expression changed, and she quickly answered the call, "Alexander, where have you been?"

"Mom, I'm fine now. Please don't look for me."

"Where are you? Do you know how worried I was when I saw you weren't in the hospital?"

"That's why I'm calling to let you know I'm safe." Alexander's voice was calm. "Mom, I just need some time alone. I'll be back in a few days."

"Are you really safe?" Mia asked, still worried.

"Yes, I won't let anything happen to myself."

Mia sighed softly.

"Alright, I can let you have some time to yourself. Take as long as you need, but you have to promise me you'll stay safe and not harm yourself."

Mia couldn't shake her unease. Perhaps it was a mother's intuition, but she felt Alexander had lost the will to live.

"I'm not going to commit suicide. I've thought it through. That's it, I'm hanging up now."

With that, Alexander ended the call.

Mia breathed a sigh of relief.

The fear that had gripped her heart loosened its hold. Knowing he was still alive, a wave of relief washed over her.d.

In Mia's eyes, since Alexander had called to inform her he needed a few days to calm down, he surely wouldn't commit suicide.

'If he really intended to end his life, he wouldn't have said anything. He needed to calm down. But his current state was very troubling. How could he possibly win Ava back like this?' Mia was still worried.

Mia arrived at the hospital room.

She stood at the door and saw William talking to Ava.

William was taking meticulous care of Ava.

"William, you don't need to keep busying yourself for me. Sit down and rest for a while. I don't need anything right now. Just sit with me for a bit."

"Alright." William sat on the chair next to the bed. "Ava, once you get better, I want to take you out for some fun."

Ava responded with a nod.

"I had planned to take you abroad, but we couldn't go now considering what has happened. William, I really hope you can regain your memory soon."

"It doesn't matter whether I regain my memory or not, because having you by my side is enough for me. As long as I have you, my world is complete."

William kissed her fingers. "Ava, I know you want your child to know that Alexander is his father. But if Alexander doesn't want this child, can your child call me father?"

"William, you really don't mind at all?"

"Every time you doubt me like this, it hurts my heart. Don't you understand yet? I love everything about you. Your child is my child. I feel for everything you've been through. You shouldn't have been treated like that. If I had met you a few years earlier, I would never have let you marry Alexander."

He had met Ava too late.

William didn't think Alexander had anything over him. He just met Ava earlier, he ended up hurting Ava so badly.

Everything Ava had endured was all because of Alexander.

"William, no matter what, thank you, but I prefer not to talk about it now."

"Why not? Didn't you tell me last night that if Alexander didn't call you by 10 AM today, it would mean he doesn't want your child? So what are you thinking now? He doesn't want this child, and you still couldn't let go of him? Your child can't have a father who doesn't accept him."

"Please, stop talking." Ava closed her eyes in pain.

"I'm sorry, Ava. I won't say anything more." William held her hand tightly. "I just want to tell you that no matter what, your child won't be without a father. I swear I will treat your child as my own, or I will die trying!"
