Chapter 297: Love at First Sight
"Actually, I have someone I like," William Bennett confessed, his gaze fixed on her.
Ava Anderson replied with a puzzled look, "Oh? You have someone you like, do you know who she is?"
"She... she's very close to me..."
AvaAnderson was speechless.
She wanted to step back, but her body was frozen stiff, and her mouth twitched uncontrollably.
William Bennett suddenly took a step closer to her.
AvaAnderson instinctively moved back.
"Ava, could you do me a favor?" he asked.
"What favor?" AvaAnderson inquired.
"Could you teach me how to win a girl's heart?"
"Me, teach you?" AvaAnderson said incredulously. "I think Victoria Bennett would be better at that. I'm quite dull, don't understand men, and don't understand women either."
"You should understand; the girl I like has a personality quite like yours. Victoria probably wouldn't empathize, seeing as my sister is a very lively girl. She naturally wouldn't understand those quiet girls."
"Is that so?" AvaAnderson asked. "Who is this girl you like?"
"She... I met her at a social gathering, a very quiet girl. The moment I saw her, my heart started to race."
AvaAnderson let out a sigh of relief.
So, it was someone he had met at a social gathering.
That was fine, as long as it wasn't her.
Since AvaAnderson had made it clear, William Bennett obviously wouldn't harbor any illusions and his tone became much more relaxed.
"If you really like her, then go after her. I believe you're outstanding and if you treat her sincerely, she'll definitely notice your good qualities."
Actually, men like William Bennett were rare.
Handsome, wealthy, young, and exceedingly courteous, not to mention discriminating in his relationships – he was truly a unique and high-quality man. If he so desired, girls would flock to him like bees to a flower.
It was a mystery why William Bennett had a hint of inferiority.
It was like a genius with an IQ of 180 feeling insecure about their intellect, which was just incomprehensible to the average person.
"The problem is..." began William Bennett, his voice tinged with hesitation.
"What's the problem?"
"Ava, Victoria Bennett might not be back for a while, so let's just sit and talk," he suggested.
Standing there, she looked as though she might leave at any moment.
"I..." Actually, Ava Anderson wanted to say she did not want to stay here too long. With Victoria Bennett suddenly off to shop, surely it would be a long while, and she couldn't just wait for her return. She could leave on her own.
"Ava, I'd like to ask for your advice. I'm a bit troubled by something, and we're friends, right? Could you lend me a hand?"
William Bennett had the look of a student seeking assistance.
With William making the request, Ava Anderson found no reason to refuse.
He had helped her plenty in the past, and she had said she would return the favor if he ever needed help.
"Alright then," Ava Anderson agreed, following William Bennett to the couch.
William Bennett had his secretary bring over some fresh juice and snacks.
"Drinking fresh juice is beneficial for pregnant women. It's delicious and can help with vitamins," he said.
Ava Anderson thanked him and took a sip of her juice.
"So, Will, let's start with the girl you like. What's her name?"
"Her name is... Elinor Fairfax."
William Bennett invented a name on the spot.
"Elinor Fairfax?"
