Chapter 1058 Love is a Sharp Weapon
"You just think about William," Brandon shot her a cold glance. "What about Ava? At least both of them need to know about this. Now that Ava wants to divorce William, are you really going to just stand by and watch William resort to any means to get her?"
"But William treats Ava so well. When Ava was bullied and hurt by Alexander, it was William who stayed by her side. If it weren't for him, Ava might have fallen into depression. William has never hurt her, and he will only treat her better and love her more in the future."
"But sometimes, love can be a heavy burden," Brandon said heavily. "Vicky, you're still too young. There are many things you don't understand. Love can also be the most hurtful weapon and harm Ava."
"If that's the case, then we can do nothing. There's a risk of getting into a car accident when you go out, so should we just stay home? At least now I see that William treats Ava well and loves her, while Alexander always hurts her. Brandon, please don't tell Ava about this for now."
Brandon sighed. "Vicky, you should go back. I have some things to take care of."
With that, Brandon got into a car and left.
Inside the car, Brandon silently watched the fleeting scenery outside the window, feeling a sudden sense of gloom.
He took out his phone and dialed a number he hadn't contacted in a long time.
When the call connected, Brandon spoke firstly, "Let's meet up and have dinner together."
Night fell.
Brandon and Mia met at a restaurant, where he had reserved entirely. The two of them sat in a charming private room. The view outside the large floor-to-ceiling windows was perfect, with the slightly rippling lake reflecting the twinkling stars.
Mia had also dressed up meticulously. She hadn't expected Brandon to contact her again. Since they kissed in that private room a few months ago, Brandon hadn't reached out to her, and Mia had been very busy.
She thought that Brandon had lost interest in her, or perhaps Brandon avoided contacting her because she had a husband.
But today, she was surprised to receive his call and hear his voice. Mia was a bit dazed, thinking he had dialed the wrong number.
However, Brandon clearly told her he wanted to have dinner with her, so she came to the appointment.
Brandon was also dressed meticulously, in a sharp suit, exuding a mature and elite charm.
Brandon sopke up, "Sorry for not contacting you for so long. I've been particularly busy recently."
"I know you're busy. It's okay. You don't need to apologize to me."
Whether Brandon contacted her or not didn't matter; after all, they didn't have any special relationship.
"It's not just about being busy," Brandon said. "After what happened last time, I didn't dare to contact you, afraid that you might feel awkward. I thought you might reach out first, but you didn't, so we ended up in this stalemate."
Brandon smiled awkwardly. "I didn't expect to be the one to make the first move."
Mia smiled slightly. "Mr. Smith, what happened last time is in the past. Let's not bring it up again."
"Alright, forget it. How have you been lately?"
