Chapter 1044 Live Well
A few more days passed.
Madison was very fortunate; at a critical moment, she received a heart from a donor who had been in a car accident.
After getting a healthy heart, Madison was out of danger.
Alexander had been staying with Madison these past few days, and his meetings with Ava had become less frequent.
Many times, Ava wanted to ask him about the biopsy results, but when she reached the door of the ward and saw Alexander by Madison's side, tenderly caring for her, she felt that another woman was already concerned about him, and she didn't need to meddle.
Ava sighed softly and turned to leave.
Alexander seemed to notice her, so he said a few words to Madison, then left the ward and caught up with her.
"Ava."
Ava stopped in her tracks.
She turned around and said, "I came to ask about your biopsy results. If you really don't want to tell me, then forget it. Anyway, you and Madison are a couple now. If you have any issues, just talk to her. Goodbye."
"It's malignant," Alexander said to her back.
Ava turned, looking at him in shock, "What did you say?"
Alexander took a few steps forward, "The tumor is malignant. I need chemotherapy to shrink it, then surgery to remove it."
Ava's fingers began to tremble. She approached Alexander, her voice shaking, "Can it be cured?"
Alexander responded, "I asked the doctor. I need to undergo chemotherapy first."
Ava's heart trembled violently. She didn't know what to say for a moment. After a long time, she finally organized her words, "Are you going back to the States for treatment, or staying in Stellaria?"
Alexander replied, "I'll stay in Stellaria for treatment because Madison is here too. Her body hasn't recovered yet, and she can't fly."
Ava asked, "Alexander, did the doctor say what the success rate is?"
Alexander replied, "The doctor isn't sure. We can only try our best to treat it."
"Does Madison know about this?"
"She doesn't know yet. She just had surgery and can't handle the stress, so I hope you won't tell her."
"When do you start chemotherapy?"
"The first round starts tomorrow."
Ava sighed, "Do you need me to accompany you?"
Alexander responded, "No, you have your own things to take care of."
"But can you handle it alone?"
"It's okay, I can manage. But if you really want to help me, could you..."
"Could what?" Ava asked.
"Could you have a meal with me after each chemotherapy session?"
Ava nodded, "Sure."
There was nothing she couldn't agree to.
Hearing that Alexander's tumor was malignant, her mind went blank.
She just hoped he could get better soon. No matter how much she resented Alexander, she didn't want him to die.
Alexander said, "Alright, it's settled then. I'll head back now."
With that, Alexander returned to the ward.
Ava felt dizzy and turned around, her steps heavy.
Alexander's stomach had always been bad, and now it had worsened. She hoped he would be okay.
Ava went to Bishop's ward and found it empty, with a nurse making the bed.
Ava's heart skipped a beat, and she immediately stepped forward to ask, "Where is the person here?"
The nurse said, "He has been discharged."
Ava asked, "Who allowed him to be discharged?"
The nurse treplied, "The patient signed himself out. By the way, he left a letter for you."
Ava took the letter and went to the door of the ward to open it.
[Ava, by the time you read this letter, I have already left. I'm sorry I chose to leave without saying goodbye because I didn't know how to say it. Don't worry about me; I'll take care of myself. You must also take good care of yourself and never let yourself be wronged. If we are fated, we will meet again. Rest assured, I will live well.]
Ava clenched the letter in her hand, tears falling onto it.
The ink on the letter began to blur.
She thought, 'Bishop, since you chose to leave, I respect your choice. I hope you can live well and stay safe.'
