Chapter 485 Full of Suspicion

Alexander frowned. "What can I do to her? You're overthinking it."

"You..." Vicky was about to retort against him, but Ava reached out and grasped her arm, "Vicky, let's not dignify him with a response. Let's go."
Ava led Vicky away.

Alexander said, "I have something to tell you. Let's talk alone."

Ava sneered, "There's nothing for us to talk about."

"Just two minutes, let's talk here, no need to go anywhere else."

Alexander stood in front of Ava like a mountain, determined that if she didn't talk to him, he wouldn't let her leave.

After thinking for a while, Ava turned to Vicky and said, "Vicky, go rest for a while. I'll come find you soon."

"Ava, are you really going to talk to him?" Vicky was a bit worried.

"It's okay." Ava looked coldly at Alexander. "I won’t go anywhere else."

"Alright, two minutes. I will come to you shortly," Vicky warned with a stern look at Alexander before departing.

Ava coldly said, "Didn't you say you were going to transfer Isabella to another hospital? Why are you still here?"

Alexander said, "I had intended to transfer her to a hospice care facility, but Isabella refused the transfer. So, I did not proceed with it, and she remains here."

Ava found it amusing. "You really care about her. You are utterly devoted to her."

Did Alexander stop her to have a conversation, simply to emphasize how much he cared for Isabella?

"She is dying, and her request is not unreasonable. So, I agreed, with no further implications."

Ava didn't understand why Alexander was explaining this to her. It had nothing to do with her anymore.

"Fine, say whatever you want."

Observing her cold demeanor, Alexander felt a twinge of anger, yet he managed to restrain himself and said, "I've heard about William's situation. The news has already spread throughout the hospital that a miracle has occurred to him."

Ava sniffed disdainfully, "Indeed, it's a miracle for us, but a catastrophe for you, isn't it? Isn't Isabella the one who wanted William's heart? Well, now that's out of the question."

Alexander frowned. "What do you mean by Isabella wanting his heart? In the case that happened before with William, it wasn't Isabella's fault. It just so happened that his heart aligned with Isabella's. Moreover, you didn’t agree to donate his heart to her."

Ava grew weary of engaging further. Each time she criticized Isabella, Alexander would swiftly come to her defense. If she spoke ill of Isabella, Alexander would immediately retort, emphasizing Isabella's kindness, insisting that it was not Isabella's fault and it bore no relation to her.

Their conversations consistently followed this pattern.
"Two minutes are up, goodbye." Ava was about to leave.

Now, talking to Alexander, even half a minute, was too much for her.

She used to love this man so much, but now she was so disappointed in him.

"Isabella is going in for surgery," Alexander said. "Today, another injured person arrived, diagnosed with brain death. His heart is a match for Isabella, which means there is hope for her."

Ava thought of the injured person she saw today.

She didn't expect that his heart also matched Isabella's. Hearts were hard to find. Many people waited indefinitely but could never find a suitable one.

However, within a short span, suddenly two individuals who were a match for Isabella got injured. This raised doubts in Ava's mind. How could Isabella be so lucky? William's heart matched hers, and today the injured person's heart also matched hers."

Even more dreadfully, William's heart was a suitable match, yet she intervened, preventing the successful heart donation surgery, but subsequently, another individual perished in an accident, and his heart happened to be a perfect match for Isabella.

Ava entertained a terribly dreadful notion, yet upon reflection, she denied it. How could Isabella possess such capability? Unless someone was aiding her.

Ava looked up at Alexander, her eyes full of suspicion and disbelief.
