Chapter 1039 Unable to Hate

The next day.

Ava took a half-day off.

She came to find Alexander to take him for a biopsy.

Alexander was reluctant at first, but Ava mentioned Scarlett, and finally, Alexander obediently went for the biopsy.

The biopsy results would take three to five days.

Ava reminded Alexander to let her know once the results were out.

Then, Ava left.

She accompanied Alexander for the biopsy as if it were a business task, leaving immediately after without any care or comfort.

It seemed that was all there was between them, like if one of them died, the other would definitely attend the funeral.

But they wouldn't shed a tear at each other's funeral.

Before leaving the hospital, Ava went to see Bishop.

Bishop was doing a bit better today, but he noticed that Ava wasn't in a good state.

After much questioning, Ava finally told him.

Bishop was silent for a long time, then asked, "Do you hate him?"

Ava smiled and said, "Where would the hate come from? I really can't bring myself to hate him, just feel helpless. I think if Madison dies from illness, maybe he will have another woman in the future. He won't lack women around him. I just hope that if he really finds a new partner, he will live well and not come looking for me again."

Bishop asked, "So, you mean you've really let him go?"

Ava said helplessly, "The most helpless thing in this world is probably letting go or not letting go. It's all the same. If I have to say, yes, I've let him go. I've already started a new life."

"Ava, your course is three months, right?" He changed the subject.

Ava responded, "Yes, three months."

"Then promise me, for these three months, live only for yourself. Focus on your classes, put all your energy on yourself. No matter what Alexander or William says or does, don't care about them, just focus on yourself."

Ava nodded.

After having lunch with Bishop, Ava left the hospital.

In the afternoon, she attended her classes diligently, no longer thinking about those bothersome things.

The next day, the door to Bishop's room opened.

Bishop turned and said, "Why so early today?"

He stopped mid-sentence, thinking it was Ava, but it turned out to be Alexander.

He walked in with a bag of fruit and placed it by the bedside.

Alexander said, "Sorry, I'm not Ava."

"No problem," Bishop said. "Do you need something?"

"Just came to see you." Alexander sat on the chair by the bed. "After that incident, we haven't met alone."

"I'm recovering well," Bishop said. "Is that what you wanted to know?"

Alexander added, "Ava said you are her lifesaver."

"It was just a small effort," Bishop didn't think he was that great. "Anyway, I was just about to deal with those people."

Alexander said, "She is very grateful to you and considers you her benefactor."

Bishop smirked, "I don't really want to be her benefactor."

"Then what do you want to be?" Alexander asked. "Her brother? I heard you had a sister who passed away, so you had Ava accompany you for a few days."

Bishop asked, "Did Ava tell you why my sister Christina passed away?"
