Chapter 1249 Gunman Attack
The wedding venue was left in a complete mess.
George slapped Alexander hard.
Isabella was startled and was about to step forward, but Mia got there first.
"What are you doing?" Mia blocked Alexander, "Are you crazy?"
"Alexander, look at what you've done." George scolded, "It's bad enough you mess around with women, but now you've caused your grandmother's death. If you hadn't brought that woman home, my mom wouldn't have died! Who can you face now?"
George had nowhere to vent his anger, so he took it out on Alexander.
Alexander seemed to have all his strength drained, he staggered back a few steps and almost fell.
He had no strength to argue.
"Enough, George!" Mia shouted angrily, "What right do you have to blame Alexander? You've messed around with plenty of women too!"
"The women I messed around with didn't kill my mom!" George tore off his tie and threw it on the ground, crying in pain, "My mom is dead!"
Alexander seemed lost, his head spinning, searching for something.
"Ava."
But when he looked around, Ava was already gone.
"Where's Ava? Where did she go?"
Mia said, "She left before the police arrived."
"I need to find Ava, I need to find her!"
Alexander ran out like a madman.
Suddenly, a gunshot rang out at the scene.
Immediately after, George's scream: "Mia!"
Alexander turned his head and saw Mia lying on the ground, covered in blood.
George rushed forward, holding her tightly in his arms, covering Mia's bleeding wound, looking around frantically.
"There's a shooter, there's a shooter!" George shouted, "Someone, help!"
"Mom!" Alexander rushed over, picked Mia up from the ground, and a few people hurriedly left the venue.
Alexander and Madison's wedding was like a farce, finally coming to an end.
In the end, Madison was arrested by the police on suspicion of murder.
Mia was shot by the gunman, seriously injured, and was being resuscitated in the hospital.
The doctors worked for 8 hours to save her.
Mia's life was temporarily saved, but she fell into a coma, and it was uncertain when she would wake up. She was now in the intensive care unit on a ventilator.
George sat on the ground in despair, leaning against the wall, his face pale and terrifying.
Alexander walked up and handed him a bottle of water, "Dad, have some water."
George looked up at his son, reached out, and took the water.
"Alexander, how did things turn out like this? Who would want to kill your mom?"
"I don't know either. I've had the wedding venue checked, but no suspicious people were found. The police are also investigating."
George suddenly laughed.
Alexander sat beside him, his face haggard and lifeless. "What are you laughing at?"
"What kind of situation have we gotten ourselves into? It's ridiculous. Are the men of the Mitchell family cursed to suffer? We've both lost our wives, and I've lost my mother. You might lose your mother too. Why is this happening?"
Alexander laughed too, but like George, it was a bitter laugh, "I don't know either. I always feel like I'm being controlled."
George sighed, "I'm sorry about today. I know I shouldn't have taken it out on you."
Alexander said, "Actually, you were right. The woman I messed around with caused my grandmother's death."
"Have you contacted Ava?" George changed the subject.
Alexander shook his head, "I wanted to find her, but mom got hurt, so I've been at the hospital."
"Go find her."
"But I need to stay with mom."
"I'll stay with your mom. There's nothing you can do here. Go find Ava and apologize to her. No matter what, you need to show that you know you were wrong. And since your mom got hurt, I'm worried the shooter might target Ava. They might be after us."
Alexander's face turned pale, and he got up from the ground. "I'll go now."
George nodded, "Alright, go."
