Chapter 502 His Only One
"I can hire a caregiver to take care of me. I can't bear to have you do these things for me." William felt sorry for her.
"It's okay. I'm willing to do these things for you. It's not heavy work anyway."
When she was sick before, William took care of her all night. When she was sad, he was always by her side. Ava felt indebted to him. Now, taking care of him was the only thing she can do for him.
"William, only if you obey what the doctor said can you get out of bed earlier and discharge from the hospital sooner."
Ava coaxed him as he was a child, and William was persuaded, nodding. "Okay."
Ava went to the bathroom to get water for William, squeezed toothpaste, and brought an empty basin over.
After William brushed his teeth, Ava took the cup and basin away, cleaned up, and then took a hot towel to wipe his face and hands.
The meticulous care touched William deeply. "Ava, I will be more careful next time, so you don't have to take care of me. It was all my fault for not protecting myself."
Ava put down his freshly wiped hand. "It's not your fault. Some people are malicious. You have done well, fighting so hard to survive."
"Ava, I heard that when I was in a coma, they were pressuring you to sign and donate my organs. You must have endured a lot of pressure and pain, right?"
Ava smiled gently, "It's all in the past. It doesn't matter now. What matters now is that you are awake, proving that my persistence was right."
She was indeed in great pain at that time. Although she insisted on not signing, the hope of William waking up was slim. If he never woke up, her refusal to sign could result in the deaths of several others.
Fortunately, William finally woke up. It was right for her not to sign at that time. Otherwise, William would have been so pitiful.
"Thank you for your persistence." William held her hand, his eyes full of tenderness. "My dear, no wonder I only remember you because you care about me the most. Even if the whole world gives up on me, you won't. I'm lucky to have married you. You are the most precious gift that God has given me, and I will never let go of your hand."
The scene was touching, but when Ava heard William's words, she suddenly felt uneasy. He spoke so sincerely as if she was his only one.
Now, she was indeed his only one.
Ava was in a dilemma.
"Okay, stop saying these sentimental words. What you need to do now is to take good care of your health, and don't worry about anything else."
Ava got up and walked into the bathroom with a towel.
After she went in, she didn't come out immediately. She stayed inside for a while, unsure of how to face William when she went out.
William couldn't wait for Ava to come out. He was getting anxious. "Ava, what's wrong?"
"I'm fine." Ava spoke from the bathroom, "I just went to the restroom."
"Okay." William patiently waited.
After Ava calmed herself down, she walked out of the bathroom. At that moment, the doctor came to check on William.
After examining William, the doctor told Ava, "William is recovering well. Don't worry. If he rests well in bed, he may be able to leave the hospital in less than a month."
Ava nodded. "I understand. Thank you."
After the doctor left, Ava suddenly remembered that Eason was still in the ward. She was a bit worried that he might have woken up by now, and she wanted to check on him.
"My dear, what's wrong? Are you worried about something?" William saw her lost in thought.
