Chapter 456 Are You Trying to Coerce Me?

Alexander had no choice but to talk to the injured person's family personally.

Unexpectedly, the family member mentioned by the doctor turned out to be Ava. So, the injured person was William!

The whole ward fell into a moment of silence.

Ava looked at Alexander in astonishment. Only then did she remember that one of the three patients was Isabella.

Alexander would definitely spare no effort to save Isabella.

Therefore, Alexander and her were no longer ex-husband and ex-wife. They stood in opposition!

"Ava." Alexander walked up and glanced at the person on the hospital bed. "I didn't expect the ijured person to be William. What happened?"

Ava wiped away her tears and shook her head. "I don't know. They said he was attacked."

"So, this is how it is." Alexander felt a slight shock in his heart as he saw William lying on the bed.
However, he had little emotional response to it, far from feeling as devastated as Ava.

It was because that, for Alexander, William was his rival.

However, he didn't feel triumphant either. After all, William was dying.

However, deep down, he felt a twinge of relief that William was nearing death. No one would contend with him for Ava any longer.

Humans were intricate and contradictory beings, with conscience and malevolence constantly at odds, engaging in a perpetual game. Confronted with varying circumstances, one side always emerged victorious.

Observing Alexander's indifferent response, Ava felt distinctly uneasy.

Yet, how much could she demand of Alexander?

He had no ties with William, and their relationship is strained. She cannot expect Alexander to be as upset as she was.

When William arrived, Ava understood what he was up to.

Alexander looked at her heavily. "Ava, can we talk?"

Ava knew what he wanted to talk about and directly refused. "No, I have nothing to talk to you about. You are not welcome here. Please leave."

"I really want to talk to you sincerely. I have no other intentions."

"Is that so?" Ava smirked sarcastically. "Aren't you here to talk to me about heart donation?"

Alexander was momentarily speechless. He did indeed want to talk to her about that. However, in view of Ava's current attitude, she clearly didn't want to talk to him.

However, he had to talk to her. Isabella couldn't wait much longer.

"Ava, I..."

"Haven't you heard her? You are not welcome here," Vicky stepped forward, angrily saying, "Please leave."

"What's it to you? Get lost." Alexander's tone was harsh and unforgiving when speaking to Vicky.

"You..." Vicky was furious.

Ava pushed Alexander forcefully. "What right do you have to talk to her like this? It's you who should leave!"

"Ava, I understand you are feeling deeply saddened right now. However, could you please calm your mind and truly ponder over what the doctor has told you? William's level of coma is such that he will not awaken again. If you refuse to let go, he will be confined to a life bound to a hospital bed, sustained by machines, existing merely as a vegetable. No one desires such a state of existence, even devoid of consciousness. You..."

"Enough, please stop!" Ava interjected, "I do not wish to hear these words from you. The doctor has already informed me of everything that needs to be said, and I have promised to consider it."

"Do you truly intend to consider it?" Alexander expressed disbelief, "You are merely trying to smooth things over. You will not actually consider it."

"And what is your proposition?" Ava questioned, "Are you trying to coerce me to sign the consent form?"
