Chapter 686 Keeping It All Hidden

Vicky drove Ava to the villa where she and Alexander used to live before their divorce.

Liam was surprised to see Ava back. "Ms. Anderson, are you okay? I saw the news."

"I'm fine. I'm safe now. Where's Alexander? Has he come back?"

"Mr. Mitchell hasn't returned. He hasn't been home for a few days."

"Has he contacted you?"

"Nope. Ms. Anderson, do you know where he is?"

Ava almost lost her balance, but thankfully Vicky caught her.

'Alexander must still be alive. He has to be alive!'

"Liam, if Alexander comes back, please tell me immediately."

Liam nodded. "Okay."

After Ava left, she told Vicky, "I need to buy a new phone and get a new SIM card, otherwise they won't be able to contact me."

"Alright, I'll take you." Vicky drove Ava to a phone store, where they bought a phone and got a replacement SIM card with the same number.

Then, she drove Ava to several places.

They went to places Alexander usually visited, his company, and even his friend Ethan's place, but they couldn't find any trace of him. Ethan kept asking her where Alexander was.

Ava finally managed to get away from Ethan and asked Vicky to drive her to the bank where Mia worked.

But Mia wasn't there, and she couldn't find either of Alexander's parents.

She tried calling them, but they didn't answer. It seemed as if they were deliberately avoiding her calls.

Ava felt a strong sense of unease. She really wanted to know whether Alexander was dead or alive.

She couldn't tell Scarlett about this, as it would definitely upset her. Now, not only were Alexander's parents hiding the truth from Scarlett, but they were also keeping it from her.

Seeing Ava's pale face, Vicky felt uneasy and said, "Let me take you back to rest first. If they're avoiding you, it might be because they don't want to tell you something. I believe Alexander is still alive."

"If he's alive, why won't he see me? Why can't I find him no matter how hard I try?" Ava broke down in tears.

Vicky held her shoulders and said, "Think about it. You chose William, and Alexander must be very angry. He's probably sulking. Give it some time, once he's cooled down, you can look for him again, have a good talk, and explain things to him.  By the way, you can also tell him about your pregnancy and he might not be mad at you anymore."

Although Vicky didn't like Alexander, she had to comfort Ava at this critical moment.

Ava had no other choice but to comfort herself with the thought that Alexander was still alive.

Vicky drove Ava back.

As soon as they entered the hall, a servant hurried over. "Ms. Bennett, Mrs. Mitchell, you're back."

Seeing the hurried expression on the servant's face, Vicky asked, "What happened?"

The servant said, "Shortly after you two left, someone came. No, to be precise, she was thrown here."

"What do you mean? I don't understand what you're saying," Vicky felt the servant's words were not making sense.

"Ms. Anderson, Ms. Bennett, just come with me and you'll see."

They followed the servant, puzzled.
