Chapter 1130 Falling into a Coma
Ava and Alexander heard the commotion and quickly stepped outside.
After rounding the hallway and following the sound to the stairway, they saw Madison at the bottom of the stairs.
Scarlett was in her arms, unconscious, and Emily stood behind her, looking equally bewildered.
"Grandma," Alexander and Ava immediately ran downstairs. They knelt down, seeing the unconscious Scarlett, both of them panicking.
Alexander immediately asked, "What happened? Why is Grandma here?"
Madison, crying, said, "I don't know either. I heard a noise outside, so I came out to check, and found Grandma had fallen down the stairs."
"Yes," Emily added, "What should we do?"
"Quick, take her to the hospital," Ava said anxiously.
Alexander immediately picked Scarlett up and rushed outside, shouting, "Someone, get the car ready."
This night was destined to be anything but peaceful.
Scarlett fell down the stairs and was rushed to the hospital in the middle of the night.
Although she was resuscitated, she remained in a coma, with no indication of when she might wake up.
It was already dawn.
Ava and Alexander stood at the door of the hospital room, looking exhausted.
"How could this happen?" Ava cried, "Grandma, please be okay."
"Ava, Grandma will be fine," Alexander said, holding her shoulder. "She will be fine. I'll find the best doctors to treat her."
Madison and Emily also came running over, carrying breakfast. Madison stepped forward and said, "Alexander, Ava, have some breakfast. You've been here all night; you need to rest for a while."
"Madison, what exactly happened? Why did Grandma fall down the stairs? Did you see anything else?" Alexander asked.
Madison said, "I don't know either. I was sleeping in my room when I suddenly heard something crash outside. I got scared and got up to check, only to see Grandma falling down the stairs. I wanted to save her, but it was too late."
"That's right, that's exactly what happened," Emily said. "Madison is telling the truth. We were both terrified. She must have been confused or sleepwalking."
Ava looked at Madison and Emily. They didn't seem to be lying, but Ava still felt uneasy.
"The housekeeper said Grandma often wakes up in the middle of the night. It's my fault," Alexander said regretfully. "I should have had someone guard her room all night. It's all my fault."
Alexander was deeply remorseful.
Ava quickly said, "Alexander, don't think like that. It's not your fault. This was an accident; no one wanted this to happen."
Ava couldn't believe that just when Scarlett had finally remembered her, this had to happen.
Seeing Ava and Alexander so close, Madison felt a surge of jealousy.
She quickly said, "Alexander, this has nothing to do with you. You both look exhausted. You should go rest. Emily and I will stay here with Grandma. If anything happens, I'll let you know."
"No need. This has nothing to do with you two either. You should go back," Alexander said. "I'll find someone to take care of Grandma."
Hearing Alexander treat her as an outsider, Madison felt very uncomfortable.
"At least have breakfast. We can leave after you eat. I've already bought it."
Ava glanced at Alexander and said, "Alexander, let's have breakfast first. Grandma will need us to take care of her later. We can't afford to collapse."
No one wanted this to happen, but they had to stay calm to handle the situation.
