Chapter 545 No Chance Anymore
Alexander nodded. "Alright. You do look good in this outfit. You look good in anything."
In fact, he wanted to say that she looked even better without clothes, but that was something only he could see.
Unfortunately, he didn't have that chance anymore.
The intimacy that once came as naturally as breathing, and the joy that used to light up his life, had vanished into thin air. Even a mere whisper of it now would brand him as a deviant.
Alexander involuntarily found his thoughts drifting to Ava and William. Had he seen her naked?
Noticing the flash of anger in Alexander's eyes, Ava asked, "What's wrong? Do you have any questions?"
Alexander shook his head. "Nothing, let's go."
He pressed the elevator button, and when the doors opened, they walked in.
Not far away, Vicky ran over and pressed the elevator button several times, but it was too late. The elevator was already going down. She saw Ava and Alexander standing together and walking into the elevator, seemingly going somewhere together.
Vicky was worried that Alexander might harm Ava, so she quickly took out her phone and called Ava.
As soon as Ava stepped out of the elevator, she received Vicky's call and immediately answered, "Hello."
"Ava, where are you now?"
"I have something to attend to. I'm going out for a bit."
"Really? Where are you going?"
"I'm going to attend a friend's wedding."
"What friend?"
"A friend from my grandmother's side."
"I see. Are you going alone?"
"Yes," Ava said, "I'm going alone. Don't worry. I'll be back soon."
Ava didn't tell anyone that she was going with Alexander. After all, it was just a wedding, and when they came back, they could pretend nothing had happened. If she mentioned it, it would provoke William and make others worry. But for her grandmother's sake, she had to go with Alexander.
"Alright then," Vicky said, "I won't hold you back then."
"Okay, if anything happens with William, call me immediately."
Vicky replied, "Alright, goodbye."
After hanging up, Vicky looked puzzled.
She said she was going alone? Then why did she walk into the elevator with Alexander?
Vicky didn't think much of it. She carried the flowers into William's hospital room, but when she entered, she saw him staring blankly.
"William, what's wrong?"
William snapped out of it and turned his head. "You're here."
William had no memory of Vicky, but he felt a sense of closeness. It was probably because they had a good relationship before.
However, when Dalton came to see him earlier, he instinctively felt a bit repelled. Maybe they weren't close before his accident.
"William, did Ava go out?"
William nodded. "Yes, she went to attend a wedding today."
"So, she told you."
She thought Ava was hiding it from him. Now, William couldn't be without Ava at all.
But she was sure that he didn't know Ava was meeting Alexander.
William nodded. "Yes. I also hope she can focus more on herself. She spends all her time on me, and I feel quite guilty."
"William, don't blame yoursrlf. You've been through a lot. She wants to stay with you and feel at ease."
"That's what she told me," William said sadly, "But as her husband, I can't do anything for her. I feel very guilty and hope I can get better soon to protect her."
