Chapter 505 She Was Very Annoyed
"This matters!" Alexander held her shoulder. "You actually came up with such speculations. We have known each other for so many years. Do you still not believe in me? For ten years, couldn't you see what kind of person I am?"
Isabella had mentioned this to him before, asking him to buy a heart on the black market, but he firmly refused. If he really had no scruples, he could have obtained a heart long ago. However, it was evident that he did not.
He detested the very idea, yet now he was wrongly accused of it by her. How could he feel good about it?
He could tolerate Ava's misunderstanding regarding William, as in the eyes of others, he indeed appeared suspicious. However, how could she casually attribute other people's deaths to him?
Seeing Alexander looking so wronged, Ava felt that she might have gone too far with her speculations. However, at the same time, she found it amusing.
"Alexander, you mentioned that we have known each other for ten years, but how did you misunderstand me before? Just because of a small matter, you would think I am malicious and you would believe that you had misjudged me. You hurt me like that, solely based on Isabella's words. Now, when you were mistaken, you told me that we had known each other for ten years, accusing me of not trusting you. However, when you encountered something, you didn't trust me either!"
Ava laughed sarcastically. "So, I am very grateful for your suggestion of divorce. Our divorce is right because we no longer trust each other. Perhaps I once believed in you unconditionally, but you shattered that trust. When you doubted me, when you baselessly accused me of Isabella, we can't go back to how things were."
"You once doubted me, accused me, and now you conveniently choose to forget about what you have done, acting as though nothing ever happened! However, I remember every detail, including the heartbreak and sorrow I felt for you. So, you have no right to speak of our ten-year acquaintance and my lack of trust in you! Alexander, you have no authority to demand my trust because you have never wholeheartedly trusted me! Now you are merely experiencing what I felt back then. Do you feel the discomfort now?"
If Alexander remembered how many times he had misunderstood her and accused her, he wouldn't say such things as "we have known each other for ten years".
He selectively ignored his actions, pretending they never happened. Moreover, he blamed her for not trusting him, which was incredibly selfish.
As Alexander slowly released his grip on her shoulders, a sense of despair caused his eyes to well up with thick mist, obscuring everything before him in a blurred haze, rendering even Ava's visage indiscernible.
He felt so sad that he could hardly breathe.
All of this was his own doing. He destroyed the trust between him and Ava first. When he misunderstood Ava for Isabella's sake, he lost his qualification.
"Ava, you got married to William so shortly after our divorce. Is it to retaliate against me? Or did you really fall in love with him?"
He would rather she did it to retaliate against him, rather than hear that Ava fell in love with William. How could she move on so quickly in such a short time?
"So what if we divorced shortly? In this new era, do I have to remain single for a few years for the sake of my ex-husband? What happens between William and me is none of your business. Stop bringing up my marriage all the time! Regardless of what happens between me and William, it's all after our divorce. Once divorced, I am single. I can do whatever I want with other men, and that's my freedom! However, as married, you are entangled with Isabella! No matter what the reason is for me marrying William, you have no right to say anything!"
