Chapter 529 Very Annoyed
Alexander nodded. "Alright, if you don't want to talk about it, that's fine."
In fact, he inquired of Ava not out of ignorance, but precisely because he was aware of William's current condition. Unraveling William's present state was not a formidable task. It was said that William had lost his memory, with only Ava etched in his recollections.
Alexander found it hard to believe. He thought William might be faking it. Even if he had lost his memory, how could he happen to remember Ava? It was too coincidental.
But he wasn't sure; it was just his assumption. The real situation was probably only known to William himself.
William desired to retain Ava by his side. However, upon closer reflection, Alexander thought feigning amnesia was unnecessary given their marital status.
In any case, the situation was a mess, making Alexander very annoyed.
"Ava, I have something to do, so I won't go into the hospital. You go ahead. While taking care of William, remember to take care of yourself. He would definitely want you to look after yourself, too."
Ava nodded. "Got it, thanks."
Ava opened the car door and got out, watching Alexander drive away.
After he left, Ava turned and walked towards the hospital entrance. As soon as she reached the hospital lobby, Brandon came towards her.
"Uncle, you're here."
"Ava, I just saw you come back in Alexander's car. William told me you went to see Scarlett. But he doesn't seem to know you went with your ex-husband."
Ava nodded. "Yes, I went with Alexander. My relationship with the Mitchell family is quite complicated, so I..."
"Don't worry," Brandon said, "You don't need to explain so much to me. I'm not here to judge you. You have your reasons, and I believe you're not someone who would act irresponsibly. You didn't tell William everything because you were afraid it would upset him."
Brandon gave off a very steady vibe, and Ava felt comfortable hearing his words.
She could tell he wasn't the type to be rigid or nitpick over small things, using them to be aggressive. He was quite open-minded.
Having someone who believed in her was pretty good. Although she hadn't met Brandon many times and hadn't known him for long, anyone who could reach his position was definitely not ordinary.
"Uncle, did you just see William? Are you heading back now?"
Brandon said, "Yes, I'm here not only to visit William but also to see you, only to find you absent. It was fortunate timing, as you returned just in time."
"Thanks, I'm doing pretty well."
Upon hearing Brandon what said, she felt a bit strange. Why did Brandon specifically come to see her?
He likely visited William primarily and saw Ava out of courtesy. This explanation seemed more logical.
"Have you had dinner?" As soon as she asked, Brandon smiled, "That was a pointless question. You must have had dinner before coming back."
Ava smiled, "Yes, I've had dinner. Have you?"
"Not yet. I've been quite busy today."
"Then you should go eat dinner. No matter how busy you are, you have to eat."
Brandon said, "Yes, but eating alone is quite lonely."
"Where's Vicky? You can ask her to join you."
"Presently, Vicky is also preoccupied. With William currently hospitalized and a slew of tasks demanding attention at the company, Dalton has enlisted her assistance within the organization. Vicky finds herself in a state of frenzy as all matters were handled by William initially, leaving her with little knowledge of how things operate. The sudden thrust into action has left her in a state of disarray."
