Chapter 1176 We're Breaking Up

Mia turned her head, "Mr. Smith, let's not see each other anymore. Just drop me off up ahead, and we'll part ways."

Brandon's smiling face immediately turned serious. "What are you talking about?"

"I said, let's break up. Just because I'm divorcing George doesn't mean I'll be with you."

Brandon's expression instantly turned cold. "What do you mean?"

"Exactly what it sounds like."

"Mia, I like you, but that doesn't mean you can challenge me."

"Challenge?" Mia laughed, "I almost forgot, you're powerful and influential. How could you allow yourself to be dumped by a woman? How about this? Why don't you dump me and kick me out of the car?"

Brandon remained silent, his face cold.

Mia immediately said to the driver, "Stop the car."

But without Brandon's order, the driver didn't dare to stop.

Brandon suppressed his anger and then isolated the driver in the front seat.

He tried to calm himself and then spoke calmly, "Mia, if there's something bothering you, just tell me directly, and it will be resolved."

"This can't be resolved, Brandon. I don't want to see you anymore. I want to break up with you. You don't lack women; one day you'll get tired of me too."

Brandon grabbed her hand, "Yes, I don't lack women, there are plenty of young and beautiful ones. Why did I choose you, Mia? Don't you understand? Or have you been using me all along, and now that you're done, you're throwing me aside. You never liked me!"

Someone like Brandon, always mature and composed, hiding his thoughts deeply, rarely looked at a woman with such an expression and revealed his feelings.

Mia felt a lump in her throat, her eyes reddening, "No, I like you. I still like you, but I don't want to be with you."

"Why?"

"Because of your mother." Mia couldn't help but cry, "Don't you know what your mother did to me? She kidnapped me, hurt me, tortured me. But until now, where is your mother? She's off enjoying herself abroad, not taking any responsibility. You've never mentioned it, as if it never happened."

Brandon was momentarily stunned, his eyes filled with complex emotions—shock and guilt.

"Mia, I'm sorry, I..."

"Don't apologize to me," Mia interrupted him, "I don't want your apology. It wasn't you who hurt me. The person who should apologize and pay the price is now abroad."

"Mia, I know you've suffered. I'll make it up to you."

"The best way to make it up to me is for us to never see each other again." Mia wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes, "I can't stay with you. Thinking about how your mother hurt me and you still protect her, not wanting her to pay the price, makes me feel suffocated."

"Mia, can't you give me a chance? I will treat you well, and I will make my mom apologize to you, I promise."

"Can you make your mom go to jail?" Mia retorted, "She committed a serious crime. Can you do that?"

"Mia, don't be like this."

"Then what else can I do? Mr. Smith, you can't do it. She's your biological mother. I understand you can't do it, so I won't make it hard for you. I won't force you. We'll break up. This is the only thing I can do. If you really want me to feel better, then let go."

Brandon was silent for a long time. Suddenly, he pulled Mia over and kissed her hard.

After a dizzying kiss, he let her go, his eyes dark.

"Mia, I'll give you time to calm down. I'll wait for you to change your mind."

Brandon pressed a button, and the partition came down. He instructed the driver, "Stop at the next intersection."

Mia got out of the car smoothly.

"Stay safe and keep in touch," Brandon said, looking at her reluctantly.

Mia said nothing and turned to leave.
