Chapter 925 Sleepless and Restless
Alexander stumbled upon the local muscle in Stellaria.
In Stellaria, he had to lean on these guys to track down Ava.
They knew the lay of the land, had some serious resources, and were tight with the underground scene. Plus, their intel networks were top-notch for digging up all kinds of dirt.
The SK Group was also big in Stellaria, always rubbing elbows with the local players.
They pulled all the surveillance tapes from Stellaria. They spotted Ava's ride, but couldn't figure out where it ended up.
The cameras here didn't catch everything.
Only the malls, government buildings, key spots, and transport hubs had cameras for safety.
But in the 'burbs or out in the sticks, camera coverage was pretty much zilch.
They had to piece together what they had and search different spots.
They didn't know exactly where Ava went, but one thing was clear that she was indeed MIA and her phone was dead.
Her car was gone too.
A chick going missing in a foreign land was some scary stuff. Who knew what kind of nightmare she might be in.
Alexander was on the hunt for her, non-stop, day and night.
Stellaria had these huge, empty spaces and deserts. If someone got whacked and buried out there, good luck finding them.
He didn't want to think the worst. If Ava was gone, he couldn't go on either.
Right now, they were combing through a deserted area.
Based on where Ava was last seen driving, she might've headed this way, or maybe not.
It was just one of the spots to check, but they had to hit them all.
The crew was using gear to scan the desert, looking for anything buried.
In the endless sand, Alexander was pacing like a lost soul, his eyes full of pain and worry.
He looked as rough as the desert rocks, his skin dry and cracked, lips bleeding, barely able to stand.
Curtis James handed him a water bottle, "Mr. Mitchell, have some water."
Alexander needed to hydrate; it had been almost two days without sleep.
He unscrewed the cap and took a few gulps, coughing as he drank too fast.
Curtis patted his back, "You need to sleep. You can't keep this up. We'll keep looking."
"No, I can't sleep. I have to find her!" Alexander yelled.
"Mr. Mitchell, I get it, she's important to you. But if you drop, it'll make it harder to find her. You should have some sleep in the car. We'll keep searching and let you know if we find anything."
In the past two days, they'd searched a lot but hadn't found Ava.
The desert was huge, and who knew how long it would take. After this area, they'd move to the next, but so far, no sign of her or the car.
Alexander felt himself about to collapse. He needed to recharge; only by staying alive could he keep searching.
If he died, the search would definitely stop.
He handed the water back to Curtis and stumbled towards the car.
