Chapter 359 It Was Really Funny

Alexander found himself staring at his phone in disbelief as Ava abruptly ended their call. A flicker of annoyance sparked within him, prompting him to redial her number immediately. However, all he was met with was the incessant drone of a busy signal, a clear indication that she was engaged in another call.

Ava must be preoccupied, he reasoned, setting his phone aside to wait patiently.

Ten minutes of silence stretched out before him, each second ticking by slower than the last. Finally, he reached for his phone once more, dialing Ava's number with a sense of urgency. Yet again, his call went unanswered. A knot of foreboding tightened in Alexander's stomach, his expression hardening.

Turning to the digital comfort of WhatsApp, he composed a heartfelt message to Ava.

Alexander: [Ava, if there's anything bothering you, please tell me. Don't keep it to yourself. I will solve it for you. We are family.]He scrutinized the message several times before finally pressing send.

However, his heart plummeted as a failure symbol materialized next to his message. His mind reeled, a sense of shock washing over him. He blinked, double-checking the symbol. His worst fear was confirmed. Ava had blocked him.

The realization hit him like a punch to the gut. Ava hadn't been on another call; she had deliberately blocked his number. His emotions spiraled from disbelief to shock, and finally, a wave of anger surged within him.

"Why would Ava block me? Has she lost her mind?" he pondered aloud.

He had been concerned for her well-being, never anticipating that she would resort to such drastic measures. Rising from his chair, he grabbed his coat, ready to confront Ava and seek clarity. However, a sudden realization stopped him in his tracks. He didn't know where Ava lived now.

Ever since she moved out, he hadn't bothered to check on her whereabouts. Post-divorce, their interactions had dwindled to a bare minimum. But the gravity of the situation dawned on him. He might never see her again. She had blocked him, a clear sign of her intent to sever all ties.

Taking a deep breath, he forced himself to remain calm."Perhaps Ava is upset about something... No, she blocked me. What could possibly be the matter?" he mused.

In his desperation, he dialed Mia's number. As soon as she answered, he blurted out, "Mom, where's Ava?"

"Why do you want to know?" Mia asked, her tone guarded.

"Do you know how she's doing? Is she still with you?" Alexander questioned, urgency lacing his words.

Mia detected the panic in his voice. "She's not with me. She visited today, but she's gone now. Is something wrong?" she asked.

"I need to discuss something with her. Can you call her and ask what she thinks of me?" Alexander requested.

Confused, Mia asked, "Why don't you call her yourself if you want to know her thoughts?"

"She... she blocked me," Alexander admitted, his voice tinged with helplessness.

To his surprise, Mia burst into laughter. Alexander felt a twinge of annoyance. "What's so funny? Isn't this situation infuriating?" he asked, clearly frustrated.

Mia, still chuckling, managed to say, "I sympathize with you, Alexander, but it's really quite amusing. I can't help it. She blocked you!"
