Chapter 334 You Are Proud
Surprisingly, Ava appeared composed but also very proud. She dared to challenge Dalton.
Seeing Dalton's face darken, Victoria trembled in fear. She stepped forward and whispered to Ava, "Let's leave, stop talking."
She was truly scared. Dalton's expression was terrifying. Ava maintained eye contact with him, and Victoria worried about the effect this would have on the baby.
However, Ava stood tall and refused to leave. She looked straight into Dalton's eyes.
"Ava, how dare you speak to me like this?"
Ava calmly replied, "I am just speaking the truth. Even though I may be a loser in your eyes, as a human being, we are born equal. I respect you, but I also respect myself."
Dalton's face grew darker.
He was a dangerous man.
His family feared him. Victoria feared Dalton as well.
However, Ava, meeting him for the first time, showed such bravery. There was no trace of subservience in her eyes.
Victoria cautiously tugged on Ava's sleeve.
Finally, William couldn't bear it any longer. He stood up from the ground and walked towards Ava, ready to take her away at all costs.
Dalton suddenly burst into laughter.
William stopped in his tracks, confused.
"You are proud."
Dalton said slowly, "Now I understand why Will..."
"Dad." William interrupted him, feeling a bit anxious. He was worried that Dalton's words would make Ava misunderstand him or realize his love for her.
He stepped forward and stood in front of Ava, shielding her.
"This is our family matter, don't involve others. You can punish me however you want, but don't drag others into it."
Dalton raised the stick in his hand and pointed it at William. "I do want to teach you a lesson."
Ava quickly stepped in front of William, blocking the stick. "I hope you consider what I just said. Will surely realizes his mistake. He will definitely change, and you can seize this opportunity to earn a lot for the family. Now is the right time."
William stared at Ava's figure. Her back was thin and weak, but it was like a harbor that would protect him from the wind and rain, blocking all dangers in front of him.
Suddenly, he felt a warm flow in his heart, and his heart became soft.
Dalton threw Ava's notebook aside. "You make a good point, but all of this is your own analysis. What if your calculations are wrong? How can you dare to give me suggestions? Can you take responsibility if I lose money?"
He didn't believe her. Ava worried that he would punish William.
She rolled her eyes and suddenly remembered something. "It's not just me who says this, but someone else agrees with my point of view. She is a very authoritative financial person. You may not believe me, but you should believe that person."
"Really?" Dalton asked, "Who?"
"Mia Thompson, the head of Wind Bank. This is one of the top-ranked banks. She refused to lend to Wisdom Future Group."
Upon hearing this name, Dalton's eyes flashed with an elusive light.
This name seemed to stir up some memories in him, but others didn't notice.
"Really? The head of Wind Bank, do you know her?"
