Chapter 1016 Muse
Alexander said, "How could I lie to you? If you don't believe me, I'll get the doctor, and you can ask him."
Madison stared at Alexander, trying to find something in his eyes.
"Alexander, it's good that you're okay." She burrowed into his arms and hugged him tightly. "I was so worried."
Alexander said, "Don't worry. I'm fine. With you here, how could anything happen to me?"
"Alexander," Madison looked at him joyfully and asked, "Why do you think you'll be fine just because I'm here?"
"Because you're my lucky star and my muse." Alexander took her hand and kissed her fingers affectionately.
"Alexander, you're my Mr. Perfect. Ever since I met you, my life has been so fortunate." Madison hugged Alexander happily, her face full of shyness. "I'd do anything for you, even give my life."
"Don't say things like that." He caressed her cheek and said, "I don't want your life. I want you to live well."
Madison said, "Alexander, I will try my best to live well."
By evening, Alexander accompanied Madison and then had dinner.
Madison needed to stay in the hospital for a few days due to her heart condition.
Alexander wanted to stay with her, but Madison was worried about his health, so she asked him to go home and rest, and come back to see her tomorrow.
Alexander was indeed a bit tired, having not slept well these past few days, so after dinner with Madison, he left the hospital.
Just as he reached the entrance, he saw Ava coming out as well, waiting for her driver.
She saw Alexander standing nearby.
The atmosphere between them was a bit awkward; at first, neither spoke, and their eye contact was brief. But eventually, Ava asked, "Did you do the biopsy?"
Alexander replied, "Not now. I'll do it tomorrow."
Ava said, "You should do the biopsy as soon as possible. The sooner you know the results, the sooner you'll have peace of mind."
"What if it's malignant? Can I be at peace?" Alexander turned his head and asked.
Ava said, "If it's malignant, the sooner it's discovered, the sooner it can be treated. Delaying is never good."
Alexander gave a bitter smile. "Does it make a difference to you whether it's good or bad? We're no longer married."
Ava closed her eyes and took a deep breath, then said, "Did you tell Madison?"
Ava thought there had to be someone keeping an eye on him.
Alexander said flatly, "No."
Ava asked, "Why didn't you tell her? Isn't she your girlfriend and the mother of your child now?"
"I'm afraid she'll worry," Alexander said. "So it's better not to let her know. Her health isn't great."
Ava thought back to when Alexander was holding Madison before they left. Madison seemed to be clutching her chest, struggling to breathe.
Ava asked, "Does she have a heart condition?"
Alexander, with his hands in his pockets, responded, "Yes."
Ava suddenly laughed. "Alexander, you really have a type. You especially like women with heart conditions. Does she need a heart transplant too?"
Alexander frowned. "It's none of your business."
Ava wanted to ask why Madison looked so much like her if it really had nothing to do with her. But she held her tongue.
Saying it wouldn't make any difference.
Ava said, "If she has a heart condition, how could you let her get pregnant? Isn't that risking her life?"
