Chapter 438 You Are Mine

Ava sneered, "If that's the case, why did you come to me? Who are you trying to justify by doing this? Aren't you afraid she won't rest in peace?"

Between Alexander and Ava, they could never get past Isabella.

Alexander's eyes were filled with deep pain as he stared intensely at Ava who was in front of him, pausing for a while, a strong and complex emotion surging in his eyes.

"You asked me to make a choice, didn't you?" Alexander gripped her face tightly. "Now I'm telling you that I choose you. As for Isabella, you don't need to worry about her. I'll bear all the consequences! Because all of this is my fault!"

Ava closed her eyes in pain. "Alexander, it's too late. Your choice was of no help... It's too late!"

A sense of mourning surged up in her brain, and Ava couldn't help but cry.

"Don't cry."

Seeing her in tears, Alexander panicked and hurriedly wiped away her tears, but it didn't work.

"Why is it too late? Are you still angry because of what I said last time? That wasn't the truth. Isabella is dying. I had no other choice at that time, so I acted like a jerk. To have you resent me is preferable to witnessing you shed tears of sorrow for me."

"Do you have a choice now? Why didn't you have a choice back then, but now you choose me? Will I not cry if you choose me like this?" Ava cried, "Isn't this a kind of fickleness? Even if you choose me today, how do I know you won't choose Isabella tomorrow? Or another woman?"

The ever-changing nature of Alexander truly filled her with an intense sense of dread.

"I won't! As long as you remarry me, I promise you that I won't. Just grant me a glimmer of hope, to make me believe that you hold affection for me!"

"Alexander, you've lost your mind, you really have!" Ava was shocked and speechless. Besides calling him out for losing his mind, she didn't know what else to say.

"I have lost my mind!" he said, now in a state of complete madness. "I was planning to marry Isabella, fulfilling her last wish before she died. However, I happened to see you today. You were actually choosing a ring with William! Are you planning to marry him? I won't allow it! I want you to remarry me. I can't stand seeing you with him!"

It wasn't just William. Alexander couldn't bear her with any other man.

"Ava, do you know?" Alexander held her face in his hands, looking at her sadly. "Even after we divorced, I still felt like you were by my side. At least I could see you. But, as you drifted further away from me, getting closer to William, even blocking me and choosing a ring with William!

"Ava, I'm panicking; I feel like you're leaving my world. Only now do I realize how foolish my previous decisions were! I actually divorced you in a fit of anger.

"When I proposed divorce, I asked if you saw me as a brother. when I heard your answer, I was furious. I thought If you told me you loved me, I would definitely hold you tight. I apologize to you. I shouldn't have proposed a divorce.

"Suggesting divorce was also a form of testing, a measure to ascertain your love for me. I acted foolishly, resorting to such a test, only to inadvertently lead to the actual dissolution of our marriage.

"I thought you wanted to divorce me a long time ago. I thought after divorcing me, you would be happy. I was afraid you thought you were only marrying me to fulfill the Mitchell Family agreement, to repay a debt. You always consider others, keep everything to yourself, and endure grievances, so I arrogantly made that decision.

"I know I was wrong because, after the divorce, I found I couldn't bear it. I couldn't stand you not being by my side. I couldn't stand you being with other men. How could other men have you? You are mine, and now I want to correct all this. Just consider me losing my mind!"

Alexander had truly lost his mind, disregarding everything, even speaking incoherently. He was willing to bear the consequences, even if he broke promises to Isabella time and time again!
