Chapter 1026 I Believe in Him
Eason leaned in, "Madison, you haven't even seen the worst of it. If you had, you wouldn't be saying this."
Madison frowned, "I still don't know your name. You keep saying you're Alexander's friend, but he never mentioned you."
Eason shrugged, "Of course, he didn't. Things are pretty tense between us."
Madison went quiet. She remembered him mentioning a falling out.
"By the way, Madison, did he go back?" Eason asked.
Madison nodded, "Yeah, he wanted to stay and take care of me, but I told him to go rest and come back tomorrow."
Eason raised an eyebrow, "Did he really go back?"
Madison was sure, "Absolutely. Where else would he go?"
Eason smirked, "Ever thought he might go see Ava?"
Madison's eyes widened, "Are you saying he's with Ava now? No way, Alexander wouldn't do that."
Eason chuckled, "Why not? Ava's husband William is back in Berlyn. Now Alexander and Ava can be together."
A sly glint appeared in Eason's eyes.
"No way," Madison insisted, "Alexander wouldn't do that to me. I trust him."
Eason leaned closer, "Do you really trust him that much?"
Madison nodded, "Yes, I trust him. Please, stop saying these things. I believe in Alexander. He's definitely gone back to rest; he's been so exhausted lately."
No matter what, Madison wanted to believe in Alexander.
Eason sighed, "Madison, you're so naive. You trust him, but he's deceived you."
Madison shook her head, "No, don't lie to me."
Eason's voice was firm, "Believe me; I'm telling the truth."
Madison's eyes narrowed, "Why should I believe you? Just because you say you're Alexander's friend? I'd rather believe Alexander. I won't let you mess with my head."
"Calm down." Eason gripped her shoulders. "Whether or not I'm his friend, remember one thing: wasn't it me who arranged for you to save him? Otherwise, how would you have met Alexander and ended up in his bed?"
Madison stared at him, shocked. "How do you know all this?"
Eason smirked, "I know everything, Madison. Never underestimate me. And you need to understand, he's Alexander. Without my arrangements, you wouldn't have had the chance to be with him."
Madison's face turned red. "Just tell me, are you a good person or a bad person?"
Eason's grip tightened, "Even if I'm a bad person, what can you do? Do you dare to tell Alexander that saving him was all part of a plan? Once you do, it'll seem like you've been scheming against him all along, that it was all a big lie!"
Madison's eyes widened in horror. "You're really a bad person. You're not his friend at all."
Eason nodded, "That's right, I'm not his friend."
"I'm going to tell Alexander!" Madison was furious.
"Go ahead." Eason let go of her face harshly. "But once you do, you'll face the consequences. He'll throw you away like trash. After all, you're not as important to him as Ava. If you deceive him once, he can dump you anytime, and your dream will be over."
