Chapter 1105 Inner Conflict
Eason pondered for a moment, then nodded, "Yeah, my mom is really stubborn. I've asked her many times who my dad is, but she never tells me. It's like she's protecting him, afraid that I'll go looking for trouble with him when I grow up. So, I still don't know who my dad is."
Eason propped his elbows on the table, resting his chin in his hands, and sighed, "I don't even know if my dad is still alive."
George immediately asked, "So, if he is still alive, and one day you find out who he is, what would you do? Do you hate him?"
"I, I don't know." Eason's eyes were filled with conflict. "At first, I really hated him. Many nights I couldn't sleep, thinking about what I would do if I met him. I would definitely give him a piece of my mind, maybe even hit him. But sometimes I can't help but wonder, what if my father isn't as bad as I think? What if he just doesn't know I exist? I also want to experience what it's like to have a father's love. I'm so conflicted."
The more George listened, the sadder he felt.
He had an urge to tell him that he was his father.
He never knew of his existence; it wasn't intentional abandonment.
But when the words reached his lips, he couldn't bring himself to say them.
"Eason," George called out to him.
Eason looked up, his eyes brimming with tears.
"Eason," George continued, "if you want, you can think of me as your father."
Eason thought he had misheard. He widened his eyes and looked at him in shock, "Uncle George, do you know what you're saying?"
"Of course, I do." George quickly grasped his hand. "Eason, I'm a father myself. I know how important a father is to a child. We hit it off so well, why don't you think of me as your father, okay?"
Seeing George's emotional state, Eason was puzzled, "Uncle George, are you serious?"
"Of course, I'm serious," George said with a smile. "Eason, would you like that?"
"But you already have a son."
"I do have a son, but that doesn't stop me from thinking of you as my son. Eason, would you like that?" He asked again, afraid of rejection, his eyes full of hope.
Getting along with Eason this way was good. Slowly, as they really started to interact like father and son, he could gradually reveal the truth.
Eason hesitated for a moment, but seeing George's hopeful eyes, he nodded, "Okay."
George breathed a sigh of relief.
"Good boy. From now on, I'm your father. If you need anything, just come to me. I'll help you as much as I can. Even if there's nothing, you can still contact me, and we can chat."
Suddenly having another son, George was both shocked and excited.
God had brought them together in this way; what a great fate.
"Uncle George, you're so kind. You must have a great relationship with your son. He has such a good father, and your wife has such a good husband. They must be very happy."
At this, George's smile froze.
Feeling guilty, he quickly changed the subject, "Let's order some food first."
Sensing that George was avoiding the topic, Eason didn't press further.
