Chapter 1113 Confused Again

Emily arrived here and kept pestering Alexander with conversation.

Out of respect for Madison, Alexander responded occasionally, but he felt a bit annoyed, so he went to the backyard to smoke.

He wasn't a heavy smoker, only lighting up when he was feeling troubled.

Suddenly, he saw a figure walk into the garden.

Alexander immediately threw away his cigarette and walked over. "Grandma."

Hearing the commotion, Scarlett turned her head and saw Alexander. She was stunned for a moment and then asked, "Who are you calling Grandma? Who are you?"

"I'm Alexander."

"Alexander?" Scarlett thought for a while. "Alexander, you've grown so much. Where's Ava?"

"She's upstairs." Alexander supported her. "Grandma, I'll take you to find her."

"She's not up there." Scarlett frowned. "There are two strange girls up there. I don't know them. Are they your friends?"

Alexander knew Scarlett's illness came and went, sometimes clear-headed, sometimes confused, and sometimes a mix of both.

So, he would go along with whatever Scarlett said.

"Yes, they are my friends."

"What friends? Why are there two girls here? Ava won't be happy if she knows. You two are about to get married. Don't be like your dad."

Alexander awkwardly tugged at the corner of his mouth. "Grandma, don't worry. They are all Ava's friends."

Alexander could only try to placate Scarlett.

"Then where did Ava go? Why isn't she here?"

"She, she had something to do and went out. She's been busy lately."

"Busy with what? Where is Ava? Hurry and get her back. I haven't seen her in a long time. What are her friends taking her to do?"

Scarlett gently tugged at Alexander's sleeve. "Where did Ava go? Did you make her angry and she ran away? What's wrong with you? How many times have I told you to treat her well? You two are getting married. What if the bride runs away?"

"Grandma, don't worry." Alexander quickly comforted her. "I'll call Ava right now."

He was afraid Scarlett's emotional outburst would worsen her condition, so he could only try to calm her down.

"Alright, call her quickly. If you made her angry, just coax her. Don't bully her. Talk to her nicely."

"Okay." Alexander took out his phone and called Ava.

He wasn't sure if Ava would pick up.

The phone rang for almost a minute before it automatically hung up.

Alexander felt a wave of disappointment. He put down the phone and said to Scarlett, "Grandma, she might be busy right now and didn't answer the phone."

Scarlett suddenly lost control of her emotions. "How could this be? What did you do to her? Why isn't she talking to you? Where is Ava? Why is she missing? How many times have I told you not to bully her? Why are you still like this?"

Scarlett started hitting his chest forcefully. "You're already married. How can you treat her like this? Are you seeing that woman named Isabella?"

"Grandma, you remember Isabella?"

Alexander's eyes showed a bit of surprise, not because of Isabella, but because Scarlett remembered. Being able to recall past events was good for her.

"Isabella, listen to how affectionately you call her." Scarlett raised her hand to hit him. "How can you be like this? Not learning the good things, only the bad. Messing around outside. I'll beat you to death. I'll beat you to death. I don't have a grandson like you. I don't."

"Grandma." Madison ran over and quickly stood in front of Alexander. "Why are you hitting Alexander? What happened?"

"Why are you standing so close to Alexander? Move aside." Scarlett, emotionally agitated, pulled Madison away.

"Grandma, don't be like this." Alexander quickly stood between the two of them.

"Alexander, who is this woman? Isn't one Isabella enough? Now there's another one? She even calls you Alexander so affectionately. Who is she?"

Scarlett was furious.
