Chapter 683 I Need to Find Him
"Ava, you're awake. How are you feeling?"
When Ava first opened her eyes, her mind was completely blank, and there was a hint of confusion in her eyes. She saw the person sitting by the bed and, for a moment, seemed to forget who she was.
It was as if she didn't recognize anyone. It took her a while to come back to her senses.
"Who are you?"
Hearing Ava's words, Vicky became a bit worried and quickly asked, "Ava, don't you know me anymore?"
Could it be that she lost her memory like William?
Ava immediately sat up in bed, looking around in a panic as if she was searching for something.
"Where's Alexander? Where is he?" she asked.
Hearing this, Vicky frowned, saying, "He's not here."
"Then where is he?" Ava grabbed her shoulders. "Where is Alexander? I need to find him!"
She hurriedly tried to get out of bed, but Vicky pressed her back down. "Ava, don't do this. Calm down!"
"No, I need to find him!" Ava struggled forcefully. "Let me go !"
"Ava, don't do this. Don't you care about the baby in your belly?" Vicky shouted at her, trying to calm her down.
Ava was suddenly quieted by Vicky's shout, her eyes filled with panic. "What if he's covered in blood? What do I do?"
Ava lowered her head, her hands pressing against her chest as if she were bleeding. She felt a great deal of pain.
Seeing Ava in such a state, Vicky quickly comforted her, "You had a nightmare. It's just a dream."
"No, it's not. He's really hurt. It's my fault he's hurt. I abandoned him. He was right!" Ava cried in pain.
"Calm down, Ava. Isn't it that we haven't heard anything yet? That's the best news. It means he's not dead."
"No news?" Hearing this, Ava became agitated again. "William promised me. He said he'd help me find Alexander. How can there be no news? Where's William? Where is he?"
"He had something to do and went out."
William had called Vicky to come take care of Ava.
At that time, Vicky noticed he looked quite upset. She didn't understand why he wasn't staying with Ava during this time. He cared about Ava the most, but now, when Ava needed him the most, he left.
Now Vicky understood. With William by Ava's side, she would only become more agitated.
"Where did he go? I need to find him. He promised to help me find Alexander!"
"He will help you find him. He's out looking for him now," Vicky comforted. "He went out to help you, didn't he? Ava, calm down. Don't forget the baby in your belly. You need to think about it, right?"
"Baby." Ava gently touched her swollen belly. "Right, I have a baby. But Alexander doesn't know about this. What should I do? I should have told him earlier."
"You'll have a chance to tell him. Don't worry, okay? You must be hungry, right? Let's eat something first."
"No, I won't eat." Ava shook her head vigorously. "I can't eat anything."
"Even if you can't eat, you need to think about your baby. You're a good mom. You care so much about your child. How can you let your baby go hungry?"
Ava wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes and nodded. "Alright."
She had to feed her and Alexander's baby. She couldn't let it suffer.
Vicky helped Ava to the bathroom, and after Ava freshened up, she led her to the dining room.
The kitchen had already prepared the meal. Ava had no appetite, but thinking about the baby in her belly, she forced herself to swallow the food.
Vicky stayed by her side without saying a word, knowing that anything she said could easily upset her at this point.
Suddenly, Ava remembered something. "I need to make a phone call."
Just as she was about to get up, Vicky grabbed her. "You can make the call, but you need to finish your meal first."
"I'll eat after I make the call."
"No, the food will be cold by then. Finish your meal first, then make the call. Okay?"
Ava had no choice but to sit down.
To finish quickly, she wolfed down her food.
This time, Vicky couldn't stop her.
Ava ran to the phone and dialed Scarlett's number.
