Chapter 932 New Feelings

"How's it going with Ms. Allen?" Mia asked, sounding a bit unsure.

Alexander didn't say a word.

After a bit, Mia tried again, "Alexander, what's up?"

"Do you really want me to get along with Madison? Be honest," Alexander shot back.

Mia paused for a moment, then said, "Yeah, I think she's good for you. Since things with Ava are over, why not start fresh?"

A new relationship? Alexander scoffed, "Mom, when I was with Isabella, you didn't approve. Why is Madison different?"

"Madison's better than Isabella, and back then, I thought you and Ava still had a chance. But now it's different. Ava's married to William; there's no hope for you two."

William again. Alexander felt like his heart was being ripped apart, both hurt and furious.

"Tell me, did you know Ava was pregnant?" Alexander demanded.

Mia's heart skipped a beat, "Alexander, you know? You saw them?"

Hearing Mia's reaction, Alexander gripped the bedsheet so hard his knuckles turned white.

"So you did know. Why didn't you tell me? Why?" Alexander pressed.

"Alexander, I'm sorry. I wanted to tell you, but Ava didn't want me to. She thought it was unnecessary," Mia explained.

The worst had happened. Alexander thought Ava had William's child and had given birth.

Mia felt awful. Alexander must be crushed.

As a mom, she felt guilty, but this was how things turned out. It was fate.

"Right, unnecessary!" Alexander gripped his phone, "She was pregnant with William's child, and you all thought it was unnecessary to tell me. I was the only fool left in the dark, finding out only after the child was born! Now I get why Ava chose William back then—because he's the father of her child. Of course, she had to choose William!" Alexander's voice was filled with sadness, pain, and a touch of self-mockery.

He realized he'd been a fool all along, a complete fool.

He'd held onto a sliver of hope, even moved by his own feelings, hoping Ava would come back to him, even if there was just a tiny chance.

But he never expected to find out that Ava had given birth to William's child.

Mia was shocked. Alexander thought the child was William's?

From what he said, it must be.

Who knew what William did to make Alexander think that way?

Mia almost let it slip. She thought Alexander knew, but he didn't.

She thought the truth would come out, but the lie held up, and even fate seemed to be on William's side. No one could change it.

After a long silence, Mia sighed, "Alexander, I'm sorry. I didn't tell you because I was afraid you'd be heartbroken. She was pregnant with William's child, and you were in a bad place. I was worried you couldn't handle it."

Lying like this made Mia heartache. Both were her sons, and it was really hard for her to choose.

"So, you do think it's for my own good, right?" Alexander asked, feeling hopeless.

Mia stayed silent, not knowing what to say.
