Chapter 613 Chatting and Laughing

"Thank you, Ms. Fairfax. I can tell you're kind. I owe you an apology because my lie has caused you trouble," William said sincerely and politely.

"It's okay. You didn't do it intentionally." Elinor felt a good impression of him.

She thought he was very charming, whether before or after his amnesia, and it was easy for women to be attracted to him.

"Regardless, I did cause you some trouble. I'm very glad you talked tonight. Some of my doubts have been cleared up. I wonder if there's anything I can do to repay you. Just let me know. Otherwise, I'll feel bad."

Seeing William's sincere expression, Elinor thought for a moment.

Seeing Elinor deep in thought, William asked, "What's on your mind? Just say it."

"There is something. During lunch today, I could tell something off between you and Miss Harrington. She initially treated you like an ordinary person and looked down on you at first."

William nodded. "I felt that too. She had this inexplicable sense of superiority, looking down on me. Now that you mention it, I think I understand."

Elinor continued, "But when I mentioned Mr. Bennett, she later came to me and asked who you really were. I told her you were the CEO of Blue Sky Group, and she was shocked."

William smirked. "That woman is obviously a snob. She didn't give you a hard time, did she?"

Elinor smiled awkwardly. "Not directly, but I think she got my manager, Richard, to fire me. After lunch, he told me to leave."

William frowned. "Was it Isabella behind it?"

Elinor said, "I think it was her. My work has always been good. Richard didn't directly say it was because of a guest, but I believe it had something to do with her."

William said icily, "She is really insidious, plotting against you from behind the scenes. I can't fathom what Ava's ex-husband saw in her. For a woman like that..."

But then he thought, 'If Alexander hasn't betrayed Ava for her, I wouldn't have had a chance.'

"Ms. Fairfax, I'm really sorry. It's my fault you got caught up in this. She didn't dare to target me directly, so she went after you."

Elinor smiled helplessly. "It's okay. I never intended to be a waitress forever anyway. Losing the job isn't a big deal. I told you to warn you to stay vigilant."

"Thank you for the heads-up. Could you give me your phone number? I think I can assist with your employment situation."

Elinor waved her hand. "Thank you, Mr. Bennett, but that's not necessary. I have no desire to return to waitressing."

"Just give me your number. Let me see what I can do. You don't have to go back to being a waitress. I can't let you get fired for nothing. I need to compensate you somehow." William took out his phone and handed it to her. "Enter your number, and leave the rest to me. Don't worry about it."

After a moment's hesitation, Elinor nodded and typed her number into William's phone.

Ava returned after being outside for roughly ten minutes. She saw that Elinor and William engaged in animated conversation, getting along quite well.
